Manchester City fell short of its goal last season, and Samir Nasri certainly played a significant part in that.

Playing the least amount of games since his rookie season and scoring just three goals for the first time since 2007 at Marseille, Nasri did not rebound well from a World Cup summer that saw him left off the French national team.

“I had a bad season,” Nasri told Sky Sports in a lengthy interview. “From a personal point of view it was disappointing because I couldn’t produce the same form as I did the year before and I had a lot of injuries - the most I’ve had in one season in my career.”

But the 27-year-old playmaker sounds ready for a comeback season in the Premier League and in Europe, saying he felt Man City was unlucky in the UEFA Champions League draw and that he’s anticipating his club to spend big to strengthen the squad.

Nasri was asked about his future, and spoke plainly about his desire to come to Major League Soccer.

From Sky Sports:

“Going back to France? I don’t think so. I’d like to play in MLS because I love the culture in America. Coaching? Why not? I’m going to start to take my badges soon so that when I finish I can look forward straight away.

“But I still have four years left on my contract so what I want now is to be focused on my rehab. I’m going to work a lot in pre-season to come back as fit as possible with a new state of mind - then have a great season and win trophies.

So there you have it, another big name hoping to spend some of the late stages his career in the United States. Now would he count Montreal? Cause we’d love to see Samir working his magic North of the border.
