Trophies remain within reach for Bayern Munich

This is such a tricky spot for Bayern Munich, now reduced to “watch and hope” as the Munich giant’s Bundesliga hopes, whatever are left, languish in contingency of a Borussia Dortmund collapse.

But they can’t spend too long crying in the Bavarian biergarten over this one. That’s because too many big trophies lie within reach. Well, just two – but two that surely matter.

First, Bayern München has Real Madrid to content with in Champions League semifinal play. That starts next week. (The schedule is here.)

Then Jupp Heynckes’ storied side can still capture the DFB Cup; Bayern has reached the final, where it will meet Dortmund once again.
