Announced late on Thursday, Biden and his wife Jill will be travelling to BC Place to watch the USWNT fight it out with Japan for their third World Cup trophy.
Joining their delegation will be former U.S. women’s and men’s national team stars Cobi Jones and Mia Hamm, plus other leading politicians.
Speaking about their trip to Canada to cheer on the U.S., this is what the Bidens had to say.
“We’re honored to be part of the Women’s World Cup Final. The team is a source of pride and unity, and we can’t wait to see them represent the United States on the world stage.”
The VP has been outspoken about his love for soccer in the past, and he visited the USMNT’s locker room during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil in.
Hopefully he will be hoisting the World Cup trophy on Sunday when he visits the locker room of U.S. national team this time around.
