Aces acquired F NaLyssa Smith from the Wings for a 2027 first-round pick.
With Teaira McCowan returning from EuroBasket and Li Yueru playing a meaningful role since she was traded to the Wings from the Storm, the Wings’ front court is crowded. Since the Aces are in win now mode, they find themselves in a situation where they need more offensive production alongside A’ja Wilson. In this trade Las Vegas gets a player who can produce a bit more on offense than the current big the Aces have playing next to Wilson in Kiah Stokes. Giving up a 2027 first-rounder for Smith, a player who is historically inconsistent defensively, is a questionable move. First-round draft picks are very valuable in the WNBA and with the Aces still sitting at the middle of the league’s standings, so that 2027 first rounder might yield a better player than the Aces think. For Dallas this is about acquiring an asset that could be used later in their rebuild around Paige Bueckers. With one less scorer to feed in the Dallas offense, Bueckers’ fantasy value should continue to go up.

Skylar Diggins finished Friday’s win over the Sun with 14 points (5-of-11 FGs), five rebounds, five assists and three three-pointers.
Diggins didn’t score as many points in Friday’s rematch as she did against the Sun on Wednesday, but the veteran guard used efficient three-point shooting to extend her streak of double-digit scoring performances to 13. Some of the lower scoring production can be attributed to her fewer minutes in the win; foul trouble limited the all-star guard to just 26 minutes of game action. Luckily for Diggins, she was still able to find production in the minutes she did play. The Storm are right back at it on Sunday for their first matchup of the season against the Mystics, where Diggins will look to extend her streak to 14 games.
Highlights: Clark returns, Thomas comes up clutch
Relive the best moments from Wednesday's WNBA action, which saw the Golden State Valkyries spoil Caitlin Clark's return to action, Alyssa Thomas score a career-high 29 points for the Phoenix Mercury and more.

Ezi Magbegor tallied 14 points (6-of-10 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), four rebounds, one assist, two steals and two blocks on Friday in the Storm’s victory over the Sun.
Magbegor is in one of her best offensive stretches of the season. In tying a season-high in points on Friday, the sixth-year center has now logged three straight games of at least 13 points and is shooting 62.5 percent from the field over that stretch to become the latest reliable scoring option for Seattle. The Storm will face the Mystics on Sunday and Magbegor will have an opportunity to extend her streak of double-digit scoring performances to four.
  • Gabby Williams tallied 18 points (6-of-10 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), two rebounds, five assists, three steals and one three-pointer in Friday’s win over the Sun.
Williams came alive in the fourth quarter on Friday to help the Storm avoid back-to-back losses to Connecticut. She added several big baskets after the Sun re-captured the lead near the midway point of the final frame. But aside from the fourth quarter, Williams made key contributions throughout the game. She recorded three steals for the tenth time this season while generating at least five assists for the 11th time. Such production helped lead to the Storm’s victory and continues to contribute to Williams becoming one of the better two-way players in the WNBA.
  • Saniya Rivers totaled 12 points (4-of-13 FGs, 2-of-4 FTs), two rebounds, three assists, two steals and two three-pointers in the Sun’s loss to the Storm on Friday.
After an 11/4/7/4/1 line on Wednesday, Rivers followed with another balanced performance on Friday. She tied a career-high in points and field-goal attempts but struggled with efficiency throughout. Still, the rookie played a team-high 35 minutes on Friday after logging a previous career-best, 34 minutes, against the Storm on Wednesday. It appears that she will continue to have opportunities to log heavy minutes and develop, which makes sense given the way Connecticut’s season has gone thus far. The Sun will face the Sparks on Sunday.
  • Tina Charles amassed 20 points (5-of-18 FGs, 10-of-10 FTs), 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal on Friday in Connecticut’s loss to Seattle.
The Sun couldn’t secure back-to-back wins against the Storm, but Charles still had a memorable night. The veteran center scored at least 20 points for the seventh time this season and became the second player in WNBA history to record 8,000 career points. While she isn’t performing at the MVP level she once did, her ability to score and remain productive this deep into her career is impressive. Despite the loss, she reaches a milestone and collects her second consecutive double-double.
  • CON G #47
Leila Lacan added 10 points (4-of-13 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds and one assist in the Sun’s loss to the Storm on Friday.
In her third professional game, the rookie guard saw career-highs in minutes, points, and rebounds on Friday. Lacan’s scoring was pretty even throughout the four quarters, which eventually landed her in double figures for the first time. Her contributions from Connecticut’s bench have been encouraging through three games; she has shown an ability to score and rebound, although her three-point shooting hasn’t proven to be trustworthy yet. She notably logged more minutes than any other Sun reserve in the loss and could be in line for another solid workload against the Sparks on Sunday.
  • Brittney Griner finished Friday’s loss to the Fever with 10 points (4-of-11 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), eight rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks.
Griner flirted with a double-double on Friday, while adding a pair of blocks and a steal to log a somewhat productive game from a fantasy basketball standpoint. Yet, neither she nor Brionna Jones had a significant impact against a tough Fever frontcourt that scored a combined 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Griner is still looking for her first double-double of the season and has not provided an abundance of production in fantasy leagues to this point. The veteran center will next take the floor on Sunday against the Liberty.
  • Rhyne Howard tallied 14 points (5-of-11 FGs), three rebounds, two assists, one steal, three blocks and four three-pointers in the loss to the Fever on Friday.
Howard injured her left leg in the opening minutes of the second quarter while attempting to secure a defensive rebound. She went airborne and appeared to land awkwardly before being helped off the court and into the locker room. However, the former first-overall pick returned to start the second half and ended up having a solid rest of the game. She finished as one of the team’s top scorers and continued to prove herself as one of the most lethal three-point shooters in the WNBA. Still, despite finishing the game, her status will be one to monitor in the coming days.
  • Jordin Canada accumulated a season-high 30 points (11-of-22 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), three rebounds, eight assists, one steal and six three-pointers in the loss to the Fever on Friday.
Canada had one of her most impressive offensive showings on Friday in the Dream’s loss, setting a new season-high in points and made field goals while equaling her season’s total in three-point makes. Yet, there’s an argument to be made that the veteran guard’s final line could have been even better. Of her 30 points, 26 of them came in the first half, which included 10 made field goals. She’d tally only one basket and two more free throws the rest of the way. As for the big picture, Canada’s Friday night performance marks the fourth time in the past five games that she has scored in double figures and logged at least seven assists. She’s been highly productive in fantasy leagues lately.
  • Kelsey Mitchell 25 points (9-of-16 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), three assists, one steal, two blocks and three three-pointers in Friday’s win over the Dream.
Mitchell was ekectric in the middle parts of Friday’s game. In the second and third quarter combined, the veteran guard scored 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting and added a pair of three-pointers along the way before finishing with at least 20 points for the ninth time this season while also logging multiple triples for the 13th time. Mitchell didn’t produce much in many other areas, however. As usual, her fantasy basketball production largely hinges on her scoring and three-point shooting.
