  • SEA Center Fielder #44
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Rodríguez returns to Seattle’s lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Giants at T-Mobile Park after missing just over two weeks recovering from a concussion, but will begin his second half as the designated hitter, with Luke Raley handling center field. The 25-year-old franchise cornerstone was hitting .259/.323/.424 with 14 home runs, 40 RBI and 12 steals in 378 plate appearances across 87 games to open the season. His presence should provide an immediate lift for Seattle’s offense.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #17
Jones drew the starting assignment for the front-end of Saturday’s doubleheader at Progressive Field and touched triple digits 11 times during an impressive 74-pitch outing where he leaned almost exclusively on his fastball and slider. The lone run against him came on an RBI triple from Travis Bazzana with two outs in the third inning. The Pirates have been cautious with his workload as he returns from Tommy John surgery, but he’s looked outstanding since the start of July, allowing just two runs while compiling a 23/3 K/BB ratio over 15 innings across his last three starts. He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues at this point based on his strikeout upside alone.
  • MIL 2nd Baseman #2
Braden Shewmake takes over at the keystone with Turang taking a seat after fouling a ball off his right foot during Friday’s second-half opener. He’s delivered top-three fantasy value at second base this season, hitting .263/.359/.460 with 66 runs scored, 14 homers, 60 RBI and 15 steals in 421 plate appearances through 92 games. It’s unclear whether there are any plans for him to undergo imaging at this juncture. There should be a more definitive update on his status later this weekend. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
  • CLE 3rd Baseman #11
Vogt didn’t rule out the possibility before Friday’s postponement due to poor air quality that Ramírez could return without a minor league rehab assignment. The veteran third baseman is working his way back from left hamate surgery last month and is now nearly five weeks removed from the procedure after initially being given a five-to-seven week recovery timeline. While his return doesn’t appear imminent, he’s already progressed to facing live pitching, leaving open the possibility that he rejoins Cleveland’s lineup within the next couple weeks. It’s an encouraging development for fantasy managers coming out of the All-Star break.
  • NYY Right Fielder #99
Yankees manager Aaron Boone reiterated on Friday that he believes Judge will return this season, but he remains without a definitive return timetable. The 34-year-old franchise icon told reporters that it’ll be a couple weeks before he undergoes re-imaging to determine his next steps. He remains limited to lower-body work and neck exercises, with no upper-body or overhead lifting at this juncture. He’s been on the shelf with a rib fracture since early June. It’s pure speculation at this point, but even in a best-case scenario, Judge appears unlikely to return before the middle or end of August. There’s also a realistic chance his absence stretches into September. Fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back anytime soon.
  • BOS 1st Baseman #40
The Red Sox extended their winning streak to 11 consecutive games by sweeping Friday’s doubleheader against the division-leading Rays at Fenway Park. Contreras took Tampa Bay reliever Mason Englert deep in the opening frame of the nightcap affair, his first contest back following a five-game suspension for his on-field actions against the Nationals earlier this month. The 34-year-old has served as Boston’s primary offensive catalyst with 21 round-trippers through 89 games. He’s on pace to easily eclipse the 30-homer threshold for the first time in his career becoming the latest example of a veteran right-handed power hitting finding success immediately upon arrival at Fenway Park, much like J.D. Martinez did last decade.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #32
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday where the conditions are expected to be much improved. Expect Friday’s scheduled starters — Gavin Williams and Jared Jones — to pitch at some point on Saturday.
  • NYY Left Fielder #35
Bellinger delivered a two-run single off Phillies ace Cristopher Sánchez in the first inning that proved to be more than enough for the American League’s loaded pitching staff as they piled up 15 strikeouts and tossed a three-hit shutout. It was his lone hit in three at-bats during the low-scoring affair. The 31-year-old outfielder made an impact during his first Midsummer Classic appearance since 2019. The Yankees open the second half with a three-game series in New York against the defending World Series champion Dodgers starting on Friday.
  • TB 3rd Baseman #13
It’s a massive relief for Tampa Bay, and fantasy managers, as Caminero appears to have avoided serious injury based on initial imaging. The 23-year-old rising superstar was struck on the left hand by a 97-mph heater from Cardinals closer Riley O’Brien in the third inning and immediately left the exhibition contest. He’ll undergo further evaluation and treatment in the coming days, but it seems like there’s a decent chance that he’s ready to roll when the Rays kick off the second half with a doubleheader against the Red Sox on Friday at Fenway Park.
  • CWS Shortstop
Cholowsky receives a $10.35 million signing bonus, which represents a roughly $1 million under-slot deal, as the top-overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft. The 21-year-old was universally regarded as the most polished collegiate shortstop in at least a decade with a real chance to be above average both at the plate and in the field. From a fantasy standpoint, he projects as a strong contributor in the power department with enough hit tool projection to envision a respectable batting average. He won’t help at all in the stolen base department, which caps his realistic upside. Still, he’s a phenomenal prospect with a chance to bolster Chicago’s rapidly improving young nucleus as one of their future franchise cornerstones.
