Vaughn Dalzell breaks down how he’s betting the series finale between the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox.
Blue Jays (-160) at Red Sox (+140): O/U 8.5
Boston is going for the four-game sweep over Toronto and despite being winners of five-straight games, the Red Sox are home underdogs.
Brayan Bello gets the start for Boston and will face Toronto for the fourth time in two years. Bello has a 18 K% against current Toronto hitters over 50 plate appearances and a whopping .444 OBA. Bello faced Toronto three times last year and permitted 11 earned runs over 13.0 innings and 25 hits surrendered.
In comparison, Kevin Gausman has 118 plate appearances versus current Boston hitters with a 25.4 K% and a .243 OBA. Gausman faced Boston six times last season and went 3-0 with a 2.65 ERA over 34.0 innings.
Toronto went 6-0 in those six Gausman starts versus Boston, so I am riding that here, plus the Blue Jays obviously wants to avoid a four-game sweep courtesy of the Red Sox. With both teams being so dangerous on offense, I will take the better pitching with more experience versus this lineup.
I played the Toronto ML at -160 odds and would go out to -190 for risking 1 unit. I threw the Orioles ML in a parlay with the Blue Jays ML for +158 odds as well.
Pick: Blue Jays ML (Risk 1u), Blue Jays and Orioles ML Parlay (Risk 1u)
