We are more than a quarter into the MLB season and we’ve already seen a number of players having terrific starts. Today we take a look at the PointsBet money and ticket leaders in the National League MVP race.

Fernando Tatis Jr. +300

The San Diego Padres superstar Tatis Jr is the leader in the clubhouse right now when it comes to ticket count in the race, as he’s backed by 15% of the tickets and 11% of the money wagered in the market. Tatis Jr. is likely going to miss a few games for precautionary reasons this week. Despite dealing with oblique issues this season he’s currently tied for second in the NL with 16 home runs. He’s a no-doubt fan favorite and plays for one of the best teams in the majors.

Ronald Acuna +300

Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna has been flat out balling this season. The 23-year-old Venezuelan slugger is hitting .294 with 35 RBIs, while being tied for first in home runs with 17. A little more than 15% of the tickets written are backing the young stud, while 15% of the money in the market is also on Acuña. He clearly possesses one of the most dangerous bats across baseball.

Juan Soto +2000

The Nationals outfielder isn’t off to the hot start his backers would like to see. An early season IL stint has slowed the Nationals’ young phenom. Yet, he still has put up very strong numbers, as he’s currently batting .284 with 5 home runs and 20 RBIs. The 22-year-old has played poorly at Nationals Park this season, just hitting .211 with 3 RBIs and no longballs. On the road, he has been electric with a .352 batting average, 17 RBIs and 5 HRs. Soto will need to play better at home the rest of the way if he’s going to make any noise in the NL MVP race. He’s drawn 6% of the money in the market.

Jacob deGrom +700

What a time to be alive. The best player in the big leagues could be a guy who plays once every four or five days. Jacob deGrom is putting on a clinic and wowing baseball fans yet again. If you don’t believe me then just take a took at the NL MVP market as it would agree with the consensus. A whopping 34% of the money in the MVP market is backing the Mets ace. The numbers on the field continue to be jaw dropping, but when you consider the fact that deGrom is +700 to win the NL MVP and -143 to win the NL Cy Young, history may be unfolding right before our very eyes. We’re already in June and deGrom has a 0.71 ERA. INSANE. I would hit this at +700 right now!
