The Red Sox haven’t decided yet whether or not David Pauley will start Tuesday.
Once Mike Timlin returns from the disabled list Pauley may head back to Triple-A, so it likely all depends on Timlin’s recovery.

Marlins’ manager Clayton McCullough told reporters on Friday that Kyle Stowers (hamstring) return from the injured list could be imminent.
Stowers is set to play another game on his minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Jacksonville on Friday. After that, he’ll talk to the team’s medical staff to assess his status and it sounds like if everything checks out, he could then be cleared to rejoin the active roster. The 28-year-old slugger has hit just .133 (2-for-15) with one RBI and a 6/0 K/BB ratio through his first four minor league rehab contests.
Baldwin scorching to start the season for Atlanta
James Schiano discusses Drake Baldwin's hot start to the season and the metrics that show why he may challenge Cal Raleigh for the best hitting catcher.
  • DET 2nd Baseman
Tigers signed INF/OF Luke Ritter to a minor league contract.
The 29-year-old infielder spent the first seven years of his minor league career in the Mets’ organization, most recently hitting .225/.331/.366 with 11 homers and 40 RBI in 438 plate appearances at Triple-A Syracuse in 2025. He’ll add depth at Triple-A Toledo with Hao-Yu Lee joining the Tigers on Friday in the wake of the Zach McKinstry (hip) injury.
  • KC Left Fielder #1
Isaac Collins (knee) was held out of the Royals’ starting lineup for the third consecutive game on Friday.
Collins injured his knee when he went crashing into the crowd at Comerica Park on Tuesday while attempting to run down a foul fly. If this lingers much longer, the Royals may be forced to make a move and shift him to the injured list. Lane Thomas will start in his place in left field on Friday night and will bat ninth against Yankees’ right-hander Cam Schlittler.
  • WSH Center Fielder #30
Jacob Young (hand) is not in the Nationals’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Giants.
Young was hit by a pitch during Thursday’s game. Fortunately, additional testing revealed no structural damage and the 26-year-old outfielder should be able to return to action in a day or two. Joey Wiemer will draw a start in his place in center field and will bat fifth for the Nationals against Giants’ right-hander Logan Webb on Friday night.
  • COL Left Fielder #3
Willi Castro (hand) remained out of the Rockies’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Dodgers.
It’s the second straight game that the versatile 28-year-old has missed due to a sore hand. The good news is that he has yet to be placed on the injured list, meaning the Rockies still think it’s a day-to-day type of injury. Expect him to return to action at some point over the weekend.
  • DET 2nd Baseman #50
Tigers recalled INF Hao-Yu Lee from Triple-A Toledo.
The 23-year-old infielder will get his first chance to show what he can do at the Major League level with Zach McKinstry (hip) landing on the injured list on Friday. Lee will start at third base and bat eighth in his MLB debut against Red Sox’ left-hander Ranger Suarez on Friday evening in Boston. Lee was hitting just .194/.231/.278 with a homer and seven RBI in his first nine minor league contests to open the 2026 campaign.
  • DET 3rd Baseman #39
Tigers placed INF/OF Zach McKinstry on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to April 16, with left hip inflammation.
McKinstry has been battling a few ailments that he sustained when diving headfirst into home plate on Wednesday, so he’ll sit down for a bit to fully heal up. Hao-Yu Lee was recalled from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move and will make his big league debut on Friday against the Red Sox.
  • HOU 3rd Baseman #15
Isaac Paredes is not in the Astros’ starting lineup for Friday night’s tilt against the Cardinals.
Paredes has been struggling at the plate this season, hitting 208/.344/.283 with zero homers and six RBI in his first 64 plate appearances, so a day off to clear his head may do him some good. Taylor Trammell will draw a start in his place and play left field while Yordan Alvarez functions as the Astros’ designated hitter against Cardinals’ right-hander Kyle Leahy on Friday evening in Houston.
  • BOS 1st Baseman #40
Willson Contreras (back) returned to the Red Sox’ starting lineup for Friday’s series opener against the Tigers.
The 33-year-old slugger was held out of action on Wednesday after leaving Tuesday’s contest with soreness in his lower back. He’s feeling much better after an extended break with Thursday’s off-day though and is right back in there at first base and batting second against Casey Mize and the Tigers on Friday night.
  • MIL Shortstop #3
Joey Ortiz is not in the Brewers’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Marlins in Miami.
It appears to be just a routine night off for the 27-year-old infielder. David Hamilton will start in his place and will bat ninth for the Brewers against Marlins’ right-hander Janson Junk.
