The 30-year-old heads out to West Sacramento after being removed from Atlanta’s 40-man roster earlier on Monday. He’ll provide the Athletics with some additional depth behind Austin Wynns while Shea Langeliers is away on paternity leave for a couple days this week.

Madden gave up four hits, walked none and struck out seven. It was an impressive 2026 debut for Madden. The 26-year-old right-hander was called up Monday and could be a factor in the Tigers’ pitching plan going forward given the injuries the team is currently dealing with. Madden came in as the bulk pitcher after Tyler Holton started and threw five scoreless innings. He will likely be used in similar fashion against the Royals this weekend.

Bello has consistently struggled to work deep into starts this season, pitching beyond the fifth inning just one time in six outings. It’ll be lefty Jovani Moran taking the ball to open the contest before turning things over to Bello for a bulk relief appearance.

Tolle gave up one hit, walked one and struck out eight. He improved to 1-1 with the win. The 23-year-old left-hander dominated the Tigers, who didn’t have a baserunner until Riley Greene’s double in the fifth inning, which was the only hit Tolle allowed. The Tigers didn’t score against Tolle until the sixth inning, when a hit batter, a walk and two errors led to two runs for Detroit. It’s unclear when Tolle might start again for the Red Sox with Sonny Gray (hamstring) returning soon.

Tracy added that Anthony is heading back to Boston to undergo further evaluation with a hand specialist out of an abundance of caution, which means he’s going to miss at least a couple games, even if he manages to avoid a trip to the injured list. Baker’s save was his ninth of the season. Casey Legumina began the ninth inning with a 5-1 lead, but Baker entered the game after Legumina allowed two hits. Baker got Kazuma Okamoto to fly out to end the game. He remains the top option for saves in Tampa Bay.

The home run was Vilade’s first of the season and second of his career. The 27-year-old outfielder took Eric Lauer deep in the first inning. The Rays will continue to give Vilade the majority of his playing time against left-handed pitching, which limits his fantasy viability even in AL-Only formats.
