  • MLB Relief Pitcher #30
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Padres recalled LHP Tom Layne from Triple-A Tucson.
Layne has a 3.32 ERA in 19 innings for the Padres since debuting in the majors last year. He was used as more of a specialist in 26 appearances last season, but since Joe Thatcher is healthy, the Padres figure to use him in longer stints now.
  • CLE Relief Pitcher #62
Personalize your Rotoworld feed by favoriting players
Guardians activated LHP Erik Sabrowski off the 60-day injured list.
Sabrowski comes off the 60-day IL after missing over three months with his elbow injury. He’ll be a middle-inning option for the Cleveland bullpen now that he’s healthy enough to compete in such a role.
HOU's McCullers Jr. a 'volatile' fantasy streamer
Eligible to return from the 10-day injured list on Saturday, James Schiano shares what fantasy managers should expect from Lance McCullers Jr. as the season rolls into July.
  • NYY Catcher #22
Ben Rice is catching and hitting seventh against the Athletics on Friday.
Rice will get his second start behind the plate against Mitch Spence and the Athletics. Austin Wells will grab a seat on the bench to begin Friday’s contest. Rice will need to get a few more starts behind the plate to gain catcher eligibility in most leagues, but it’s moving in the right direction.
  • BAL 1st Baseman #6
Ryan Mountcastle told reporters that he’s hopeful he’ll be eligible to be activated off the 60-day injured list from his hamstring injury when first eligible.
Mountcastle has begun a hitting progression, which is a positive development. The first baseman is hopeful he’ll be ready to roll when first eligible to come off the 60-day injured list, and he should be an everyday option when activated.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #21
Rockies activated LHP Kyle Freeland off the 15-day injured list.
Freeland is up and will make the start against the Brewers on Friday. The 32-year-old isn’t a recommended fantasy option for all but the ever-so-desperate.
  • COL Relief Pitcher #43
Rockies optioned RHP Anthony Molina to Triple-A Albuquerque.
Molina will head back to Triple-A to make room for Kyle Freeland, with Freeland coming off the injured list to start Friday against the Brewers. Molina will likely be back as a depth option in the Colorado bullpen before the season concludes.
  • CIN Right Fielder #27
Reds placed OF Jake Fraley on the 10-day injured list with a shoulder sprain.
Fraley will hit the injured list and be replaced on the active roster — and in the lineup — by Austin Hays, with Hays activated off the injured list from his foot injury. There should be an update on how much time Fraley is going to miss in the coming days.
  • CIN Center Fielder #12
Reds activated OF Austin Hays off the 10-day injured list.
Hays is back after missing close to a month with a contusion on his left foot. He’ll likely be in the lineup for the Reds as a corner outfielder on a relatively regular basis.
  • STL Right Fielder #21
Lars Nootbaar (side) is hitting fifth and playing left field against the Cardinals on Friday.
Nootbaar missed a couple of games with an intercostal region issue, but the outfielder is feeling well enough to roam the outfield and hit in the middle of the St. Louis lineup.
  • ATH Relief Pitcher #61
Athletics recalled RHP Elvis Alvarado from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Alvarado is up to replace T.J. McFarland after McFarland was booted off the roster by the A’s. The right-hander provides middle-inning depth while with the club in this stint.
  • ATH Relief Pitcher #48
Athletics designated LHP T.J. McFarland for assignment.
McFarland will likely see interest on the waiver wire despite his 6.89 ERA and 1.85 WHIP over 27 appearances. The 36-year-old will be replaced on the A’s roster by Elvis Alvarado.
