Orioles recalled LHP Tim Berry from Triple-A Norfolk.
Berry holds a 4.12 ERA with 53 strikeouts over 63 1/3 innings at Double-A this season as a starter, but he’ll be used in relief with the O’s. The southpaw will be a long man.

Joey Ortiz went 3-for-3 and scored a pair of runs as the Brewers bested the White Sox 5-2 in Cactus League play on Friday afternoon.
Ortiz singled in the fifth inning and raced around to score on an RBI double off the bat of Brice Turang. He also singled in the seventh and was driven in by William Contreras. The 27-year-old is off to a hot start this spring, hitting .429 (6-for-14) with a pair of RBI and two stolen bases. He’ll need to keep it up to maintain the starting gig at shortstop with top prospect Jett Williams on his heels.
Target Abreu late for fantasy RP amid Hader injury
Eric Samulski and James Schiano look at the 'landmine-y' world of fantasy relief pitchers and explain why Josh Hader's injury gives Bryan Abreu a massive boost in value.
  • MIL Shortstop #2
Luis Rengifo went 2-for-3 and swatted his first home run as a member of the Brewers in Friday’s Cactus League victory over the White Sox.
Rengifo did his damage off of White Sox’ starter Sean Burke in the third inning, launching a sinker for a 345-foot (105.3 mph EV) solo shot. He also drove in a run with an RBI single in the fourth inning that gave the Brewers a 3-2 lead. It appears as though the versatile 29-year-old is the favorite to open the season as the Brewers’ starting third baseman. If that’s the case, his blend of power and speed makes him a worthwhile late-round target for fantasy purposes as a middle infield option.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #40
Brandon Sproat had mixed results in his Cactus League debut against the White Sox on Friday, giving up one run on three hits in 1 1/3 innings.
The 25-year-old right-hander recorded three of his four outs via the strikeout while also issuing one walk in the ballgame. Sproat allowed an RBI single to Edgar Quero in the opening inning but was able to escape further damage by picking him off of first base. He then issued a walk and a single after striking out Jarred Kelenic to start the second but the Brewers’ bullpen stepped up and stranded both inherited runners. Sproat got six whiffs on 35 pitches in the game, registering an elite CSW of 43 percent. He’s fighting against a very crowded rotation mix to start the season, but if Sproat earns an opportunity his ability to miss bats makes him very interesting for fantasy purposes.
  • CWS Catcher #7
Edgar Quero went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in both of the White Sox’ runs in a losing effort against the Brewers on Friday.
The 22-year-old backstop opened the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI single off of Brandon Sproat in the top half of the first inning. He then added a run-scoring double off of Abner Uribe in the third inning that made it 2-0. Unfortunately, that would be the extent of their offense in the game. Quero is off to a blistering start this spring, hitting .538 (7-for-13) with a whopping eight RBI.
  • CWS Starting Pitcher #59
Sean Burke wasn’t at his best in Friday’s Cactus League start against the Brewers, allowing two runs on three hits over his three innings of work.
Burke racked up two strikeouts on the afternoon while issuing one base on balls. He retired the Brewers in order in each of the first two innings, but things fell apart for him in the third. There, he served up a leadoff homer to Luis Rengifo then issued a walk and two straight singles to push across another one. Burke then rallied to escape further damage, getting Brice Turang to fly into a double play. He got four whiffs on 40 pitches on the day, posting a strong CSW of 38 percent. Burke’s velocity on his fastball was down slightly in this one (-0.3 mph), but there’s no reason to be concerned.
  • CHC Shortstop #7
Dansby Swanson delivered a two-run homer and an RBI single Friday in the Cubs’ 8-6 defeat of the Guardians.
The homer came off Logan Allen in the first. It was his first spring home run since 2023, as he went without one in 75 at-bats the last two years.
  • CHC Pitcher #30
Edward Cabrera retired all six batters he faced, striking out three of them, Friday against the Guardians.
Cabrera had a 25.07 ERA in four starts last spring before opening the season on the IL with a blister, so things are already off to a better start here. His velocities today were on par with his 2025 numbers, and he allowed just one hard-hit ball to the three batters who made contact.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #77
Parker Messick allowed two runs in 2 2/3 innings out of the pen Friday against the Cubs.
Messick worked the middle innings after Logan Allen allowed two runs in three innings to start the game. It’s not entirely set that Joey Cantillo will be in the Guardians’ rotation, but he seems like a good bet, which would leave one spot for Messick and Allen. Messick is far more interesting for fantasy purposes, but upside might not win the day.
  • CHC Infield #3
Alex Bregman doubled and singled Friday against the Guardians.
Bregman’s double went 409 feet and would have been a homer in 24 ballparks, but perhaps even worse is he had another 389-foot fly to right-center that went for an out, even though it would have been gone in 16 ballparks.
  • COL Left Fielder #13
Zac Veen played the role of hero for the Rockies on Friday afternoon, blasting a walk-off solo home run in a 3-2 victory over the Padres.
The dynamic 24-year-old outfielder victimized Sean Boyle for the game-winning blast, demolishing a 1-0 changeup for a 447-foot (108.7 mph EV) bomb to center field. Veen finished the afternoon 1-for-2. He’s off to a strong start this spring, hitting .273 (3-for-11) with a pair of homers, three RBI and a 4/1 K/BB ratio in his first six games. If he can work his way into a regular role with the Rockies, he could wind up being an impact addition for fantasy purposes.
