Colby Rasmus is “done and enjoying life,” a friend of the former outfielder tells Jon Heyman of FanCred Sports.

That was the assumption already after Rasmus left the Orioles around midseason, but now it’s apparently official. Assuming he’s done once and for all, the 32-year-old will walk away with a .241/.310/.436 batting line and 166 homers over 10 seasons in the majors. He appeared in just 18 games with the Orioles in 2018.

MLB.com’s Martin Gallegos reports Luis Severino will not start tonight’s game against the Mariners and will be pushed back.

Rookie Gage Jump — not yet officially added to the roster — will instead start for the Athletics. Severino is coming off a terrific start against the Angels on Thursday, so he figures to be a streaming option against the Mariners if he slots in against them. Another, less fantasy-friendly option, would be for Severino to start against the Yankees on Friday.

Rhys Hoskins

CLE 1st Baseman #8
Rhys Hoskins is not in Cleveland’s starting lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Nationals.

Daniel Schneeman will bat fifth and play center field in Hoskins’ absence, allowing a DH day for Chase DeLauter. We’d say this looks like a routine day off, but when you’re hitting .190/.338/.388 in 44 games lower on the defensive spectrum as a low-risk signing, your roster spot is obviously on shaky ground.

Guardians selected the contract of LHP Will Dion from Triple-A Columbus.

Dion was 3-0 with a 4.50 ERA in 15 appearances over 26 innings with Columbus, striking out 36 and walking just five. He’ll give the pen a fresh arm in his major league debut during his age-26 season.

Guardians optioned LHP Logan Allen to Triple-A Columbus.

Allen pitched four shutout innings against the Nationals on Monday, striking out seven. It was a good impression, but the Guardians bullpen needed fresh arms. Allen holds a 5.45 ERA and 1.58 WHIP in eight starts with Columbus, so he’s not terribly fantasy relevant at this point.

Craig Kimbrel

NYM Relief Pitcher #46
The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reports the Tampa Bay Rays and Craig Kimbrel are in agreement on a major-league contract.

Kimbrel reportedly will be available to pitch tonight for the Rays. Kimbrel allowed 12 runs in 15 innings of the work with the Mets, walking six in 15 innings. The well-traveled Kimbrel has pitched for eight teams since the start of the 2021 season, and when he dons a Rays jersey, that’ll make it nine.

Spencer Turnbull

INT Starting Pitcher #12

Spencer Turnbull signed a contract with Mexican League’s Cerveceros de Tecate.

The former big-leaguer was with the Blue Jays briefly last year after pitching to a 2.65 ERA in 2024 with the Phillies. Turnbull, still only 33, probably has a non-zero chance to make it back to the majors in some capacity if he pitches well and catches the right eyes.

Adolis García

PHI Right Fielder #53

The Athletic’s Matt Gelb believes it is “fair to wonder” if Adolis García will be Philadelphia’s starting right fielder by the end of the season.

García is in a 2-for-43 slump with 24 strikeouts, carrying a .598 OPS on the season. The only thing saving García at this point is the fact that the Phillies don’t really have a better option, as Gelb quotes interim manager Don Mattingly as saying “I don’t really feel like we have a true alternative.” García is an obvious candidate to be replaced as we near the trade deadline, even if he does turn it around a bit from this current skid.

TJ Rumfield

COL 1st Baseman

X-rays on TJ Rumfield’s right hand came back negative for any fractures.

It’s a massive relief for the rebuilding Rockies and fantasy managers after Rumfield was drilled on the right hand by a 97-mph fastball from Dodgers Starter Emmet Sheehan in the first inning of Monday’s series opener. The 26-year-old rookie figures to miss a couple games until the pain and swelling subside, but appears to have avoided serious injury. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day.

Nicky Lopez

CHC 2nd Baseman #12

Cubs sent INF Nicky Lopez outright to Triple-A Iowa.

Lopez will presumably stick around with the Cubs as organizational depth after being removed from the club’s active roster last weekend. The 31-year-old defensive wizard makes sense as an emergency stopgap but he doesn’t offer enough offensive impact to be anything close to an everyday option at this stage of his career.
