But the 20-year-old right-hander possesses a fairly well-developed four-pitched arsenal, including a fastball that has been clocked in the high-90s. He should continue to work as a starter in the Indians’ minor league system and could move up rather quickly. This is the type of profile that Cleveland has developed exceptionally well in the past.

White ran into the wall making a catch in the sixth inning of last night’s game. He will now head to the concussion IL for at least a week. If Ronald Acuna Jr. (hamstring) is not healthy by the time White is able to return, White will get some more run in the majors.

He also struggled through some injuries last season, playing just 48 games and hitting .234/.304/.346 with five home runs and six steals in 48 games. He does have some power and speed, but the results haven’t been there since 2023, he’s probably only a worthwhile deep-league add for now.

Rodríguez is the 27th-ranked prospect in baseball, according to MLB Pipeline, and the top catching prospect in baseball. The 19-year-old hit .311/.430/.519 in 28 games at High-A with four home runs, 21 RBI, and four steals. Rodríguez still has some work to do when it comes to framing and handling a pitching staff, but he has had success controlling the running game in the minors, so there is a chance that he can stick behind the plate.

The 22-year-old just keeps hitting and climbing up prospect lists. He’s now up to nine home runs and 39 RBI on the season to go along with a .313 batting average and a .960 OPS. There’s no room at the inn for Ramírez with the Cubs right now, but the Cubs are also reportedly interested in trading for an ace starting pitcher. Ramírez may need to be involved in those talks.

Clifford is slashing .252/.327/.473 with seven home runs, three steals, and 21 RBI in 37 games at Triple-A this season. However, he’s also striking out 36 percent of the time with a 13.5 percent swinging strike rate. That will need to be rectified if we’re going to feel better about his ability to hit MLB pitching.

The 24-year-old Morales is hitting .325/.421/.528 with seven home runs and 20 RBI in 37 games at Triple-A. Morales was a second-round pick back in the 2023 MLB Draft and is a .290 career hitter in 1,067 minor league at-bats. He’s blocked at third base by Brady House right now, but he has started some games at first base and could also DH if the Nationals decided to give him a call.

It’ll be Manoah’s second appearance for the Angels after he threw a scoreless inning Friday against the Blue Jays. He gave up five earned runs in 4 1/3 innings in his one minor league start before being activated from the injured list last week.

Pinch-hitting for Zack Short in the sixth, Workman homered off Nick Mears with a man on to make it a 5-3 game. He hit that fly 383 feet and then had an impressive flyout at 106 mph in his second and final at-bat. That one had an xBA of .840. A left-handed hitter, Workman wasn’t going to start against the lefty Noah Cameron tonight, but he was doing well enough in Triple-A (.358/.413/.590) that he really should get a look here with Kerry Carpenter out. He’ll probably start at least a couple of games during the Mets series that begins Tuesday.

Jansen closed out a bullpen game which featured six Tigers pitchers, with none of them throwing more than 2 1/3 innings. It’s Jansen’s seventh save of the year and 483rd all-time.

He was lifted after Kevin McGonigle singled to start the fifth. John Schreiber, though, was able to strand the runner. Cameron hadn’t pitched since Apr. 30 because of back tightness. His latest subpar effort leaves him with a 5.55 ERA. The league is batting .300 against him. It seems quite possible that he’ll be replaced by Stephen Kolek after Cole Ragans comes off the injured list.
