The 37-year-old hurler was away from the club for a few days to tend to a family matter. He returns to a 5.06 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 40/12 K/BB ratio over 37 1/3 innings on the season.

Yorke was 0-for-8 in nine days since returning to the majors on May 8. The Pirates could replace him with fellow utilityman Tyler Callahan or maybe Rafael Flores Jr. as another catcher option.

That figures to cost him at least a month. Brice Matthews started at second base today and could be the primary guy there while Altuve is out, though Braden Shewmake could also be in the mix once shortstop Jeremy Peña is activated.

Fernando Tatis Jr. moves from second to first, and Miguel Andujar, who hit sixth last night, is in the second spot. Merrill has gone hitless in four straight games to fall to .205/.275/.325 for the season. He had led off in each of his last 10 starts, and this is the first time all season that he’s hit lower than fourth.

He isn’t currently in Sunday night’s lineup, and neither is Brendan Donovan. The 20-year-old Emerson was hitting .255/.347/.469 with seven homers and 10 steals in 38 games for Tacoma. 33 of his 38 starts had come at shortstop, with the rest at third base, so it will be interesting to see if the Mariners give him a chance to displace J.P. Crawford. For now, with Donovan limited, the easy move would be to play him at third most of the time. However, Emerson seems like a clear upgrade defensively at shortstop. Offensively, he might not be quite ready. He was striking out 27 percent of the time in Triple-A, and his exit velocity numbers were pretty average. He’s very likely to turn into a fine regular in time, but those in shallow leagues can probably ignore him for now.

After an easy first, Bradley threw 30 pitches in the second and it was decided not to extend him further. This figured to be Bradley’s only rehab start, as he’s eligible to come off the injured list next weekend. However, perhaps the Twins will now ask him to pitch once more in the minors.

Connor Wong replaced him. The Red Sox also have Mickey Gasper as a catcher option, so they wouldn’t need to make a move for another catcher if Narváez needs a couple of days off. Anything more than, though, and he’ll probably land on the IL. Matt Thaiss or Jason Delay could get the call in that case.

Lauer was designated for assignment by the Jays earlier in the week. The details of the swap are still being worked out, but it sounds like it’s a done deal that the 30-year-old southpaw will be joining the Dodgers. Stay tuned.

Garver was scratched from the M’s lineup on Saturday due to tightness in his back, but it appears to have been only a minor issue. Expect him to see the bulk of the action behind the dish while Cal Raleigh (oblique) is shelved.

Caminero opened the scoring in the home half of the first inning, walloping a 2-2 sweeper from Eury Pérez for a 372-foot (104.0 mph EV) solo shot. He also drew a walk with the bases loaded in the sixth inning to bring in the Rays’ sixth run. The 22-year-old budding superstar is now hitting .256/.342/.488 with 12 homers and 23 RBI on the season.

Díaz jumped on a first-pitch changeup from Eury Pérez and clobbered it for a 426-foot (108.5 mph EV) solo shot that extended the Rays’ lead to 5-2 in the fifth inning. He also drew a walk in the ballgame. The 34-year-old slugger is enjoying another strong season offensively, slashing .295/.376/.458 with seven long balls and 27 RBI.
