Brewers recalled INF/OF Owen Miller from Triple-A Nashville.
The versatile 26-year-old played a prominent role with the Brewers to begin the season, but was ultimately sent down after they acquired Carlos Santana from the Pirates at the trade deadline. Miller has hit .264/.303/.375 with five homers, 27 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 310 plate appearances on the season.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Casey Mize (adductor) is likely to need a rehab assignment.
This will push his return well into June, potentially towards the end of the month. Mize has been on the IL twice this year with the same injury and the Tigers will likely be cautious with him to make sure he’s okay. He’s not a must-hold in shallow leagues.
PCA showing signs of offensive breakout in June
James Schiano discusses the improvement that Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong has made on offense in recent weeks, including the .455 batting average and 1.409 OPS he has posted in his last five games.
  • DET Shortstop #27
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Trey Sweeney (shoulder) will undergo arthroscopic surgery and miss the rest of the season.
Lapped by Kevin McGonigle, Sweeney will need to play at second or third to have a future for the Tigers going forward after this lost season. Sweeney hit .196/.258/.291 in 326 plate appearances last season and will need to come back strong from his surgery to have a real shot at an everyday role.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #29
Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said Tarik Skubal (elbow) will make a rehab start Sunday at High-A West Michigan.
Skubal will pitch in High-A rather than Triple-A because of weather concerns. Those poor kids. Skubal may only need one rehab start before he’s ready to go, as the NanoScope procedure appears to be cutting his time missed drastically. Assuming he looks good in the start, Skubal could be activated sometime next week.
  • PHI 2nd Baseman #5
Bryson Stott is not in Philadelphia’s starting lineup on Friday against the White Sox.
It’ll be Edmundo Sosa against LHP Anthony Kay. Stott had started the last six games, including one against a left-hander, and has essentially been a full-time player under new manager Don Mattingly. It’s Sosa’s first start since May 27.
  • TOR Relief Pitcher #45
Blue Jays sent RHP Tommy Nance on a rehab assignment to Triple-A Buffalo.
Nance has missed the last two weeks and change with right forearm discomfort. The veteran right-hander had a 4.05 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 24/8 K/BB ratio over 20 innings in the bigs before his injury. He’ll be part of the late-game mix with the Blue Jays when healthy.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher #43
Red Sox sent LHP Patrick Sandoval (biceps, elbow) on a rehab assignment to Triple-A Worcester.
He’s getting closer. Sandoval figures to spend at least a few starts here if the Red Sox plan to stretch him out. He progressed quickly from a live batting practice session this past Saturday, so Boston must have liked what they saw. If Sandoval continues to show his rehab is going well, he could eventually bump in to Boston’s big-league rotation, but there’s probably no need to stash him in most fantasy leagues at the moment.
  • NYY Right Fielder #78
Yankees recalled OF Spencer Jones from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
He’ll get some every day run while Aaron Judge is out, at least for the time being. Jones’ contact rate likely makes him a volatile enough player to stay away from for the time being, but he’s shown he has the speed and power to be a fantasy contributor if he can hit the ball.
  • NYY Right Fielder #99
Yankees placed Aaron Judge (rib) on the 10-day injured list.
He’ll be out for at least 4-6 weeks and will be re-evaluated afterwards, likely pushing his return past the All-Star break if not longer. Judge’s absence should lower runs and RBI expectations for the rest of the Yankees lineup. Spencer Jones figures to be his direct replacement in the lineup for now, at least until Jasson Dominguez is healthy. Judge had a down May while playing through this injury.
  • LAA 1st Baseman #18
Angels sent 1B Nolan Schanuel on a rehab assignment to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.
He’ll hang out close to Los Angeles and is still a possibility to be activated at some point for the Freeway Series between the Dodgers and Angels, though it doesn’t look like it will be tonight based on this transaction.
  • SF Catcher #13
Giants sent C Logan Porter outright to Triple-A Sacramento.
He cleared waivers. The 30-year-old is just a depth piece for the Giants behind the plate, even after the Patrick Bailey trade.
