Juan Soto blasted his 33rd home run of the season on Sunday, powering the Padres to a 12-2 victory over the visiting Cardinals.

Soto opened the scoring in the ballgame with a mammoth 461-foot three-run blast off of Drew Rom in the home half of the first inning. That would be all the run support that the Padres would end up needing. The 24-year-old superstar also smacked a run-scoring double in the fourth inning, finishing the day 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored and four RBI. On the season, he’s slashing an outstanding .273/.408/.514 with the aforementioned 33 long balls, 105 RBI and 10 stolen bases.

Ryan Jeffers will undergo tests Tuesday for a sprained left wrist.

Jeffers is off to a fantastic start to his season, so it’d be a shame if he landed on the IL with an injury apparently sustained on a broken-bat foul ball tonight. Alex Jackson would be the obvious choice to replace him on the roster, though since he’s out of options, the team could instead go to Noah Cardenas or David Bañuelos if they think it’d be a short IL stint for Jeffers. That way, the Twins wouldn’t risk losing Jackson when Jeffers returns.

Both of Bell’s home runs came off Astros starter Tatsuya Imai. He hit a solo home run in the second inning and a two-run shot in the fourth inning. Bell also added an RBI single in the sixth inning. He needed a game like this and with his average at .223 and OPS at .647, he needs to keep hitting if he’s going to remain a regular player for the rest of the season.

Emerson’s first ever MLB hit was a memorable one; a three-run blast that extended Seattle’s lead to 6-1 off Trevor Richards in the eighth inning. The 20-year-old is considered hit above power, but he’s added bulk and certainly has the bat speed to hit for power at the highest level. Emerson is likely to have some ups and downs as a 20-year-old, but there’s significant fantasy upside in his profile.

Taylor Rogers

MIN Relief Pitcher #55

Taylor Rogers got the final two outs and the save against the Astros on Monday.

Rogers is back in the mix for saves along with Luis Garcia and Justin Topa. He entered the game with one out in the ninth inning and struck out Yordan Alvarez before getting Christian Walker to ground out to end the game. Rogers is 35 and has a 1.55 WHIP in 20 appearances. It’s unlikely he runs with the job at this point of his career, so he’s really only worth rostering in AL-Only leagues.
