Royce Lewis slugged his third home run of the postseason as the Twins dropped Game 1 of the ALDS to the Astros on Saturday afternoon in Houston.
Lewis went back-to-back with teammate Jorge Polanco in the seventh inning, pulling the Twins to within a run at 5-4. That would be as close as they would get. The 24-year-old infielder finished the day 1-for-5 and is now 3-for-11 (.273) with three long balls and four RBI through his first three postseason games.

Samuel Basallo is on the bench for Saturday afternoon’s showdown against the Yankees.
Basallo takes a seat as the Orioles deploy a righty-heavy lineup to face Yankees lefty Ryan Weathers. The 21-year-old rookie backstop has been locked in at the plate recently, hitting .283 (15-for-53) with four homers and eight RBI over his last 15 games. Adley Rutschman is behind the dish with Pete Alonso at DH and Coby Mayo at first base in this one.
Rutschman putting up 'star caliber' statistics
James Schiano breaks down Adley Rutschman's performance in his six games since returning for the Orioles from the IL, in which he has put up an impressive performance with four home runs and 14 RBIs.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher
Orioles manager Craig Albernaz confirmed Trey Gibson will make his major-league debut against the Yankees on Sunday.
No pressure. Gibson, the Orioles’ top pitching prospect, will make his major-league debut at Yankee Stadium, with Shane Baz likely pushed back to Monday. The 23-year-old right-hander is one of the more intriguing arms in the minors, but this is an extremely difficult spot for fantasy managers to trust him. He offers legitimate strikeout upside after posting a stellar 166/44 K/BB ratio across 120 1/3 innings at three levels in Baltimore’s system last season, giving him a path to immediate fantasy relevance. He’s talented enough to warrant a speculative roster spot in most formats, even if expectations should be tempered in this challenging matchup.
  • CHC 2nd Baseman #2
Nico Hoerner (neck) is out of the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Diamondbacks.
Matt Shaw takes over at second base with Hoerner on the bench for some additional rest after making an early departure from Friday’s series opener at Wrigley Field with neck tightness. The 28-year-old second baseman has been a revelation, hitting .297/.374/.461 with four homers, 26 RBI and seven steals through 32 games, as an increase in over-the-fence power has pushed him into true superstar territory this season. There should be a clearer picture regarding his status at some point this weekend, but fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #22
Griffin Jax will start Saturday’s game against the Giants.
Jax, who opened the season roughly six weeks ago as a potential closing option, is being stretched out as a start with the aim of joining Tampa Bay’s rotation. The 31-year-old’s departure from the bullpen mix is a boost to his fantasy value from a volume standpoint, but fantasy managers should probably employ a wait-and-see approach before trusting him in shallow mixed leagues. It’s a nice spot right out of the gate since the Giants have been one of the weakest lineups in the game this season.
  • TOR 3rd Baseman #7
Kazuma Okamoto is at third base and hitting cleanup on Saturday against the Twins.
Okamoto joked that he was a pregame quesadilla shy of a three-homer performance during Friday’s win over the Twins. He’ll continue hitting cleanup for the seventh time in the last eight games on Saturday afternoon at Target Field. The 29-year-old third baseman has been scorching hot, going deep five times over his last 12 games after Friday’s two-homer explosion.
  • NYM Catcher #13
The Mets and catcher Luis Torrens are in agreement on a two-year, $11.5 million contract extension, reports The Athletic’s Will Sammon.
Torrens, who was set to become a free agent next offseason, will remain in New York through 2028 in a backup role behind Francisco Alvarez. ESPN’s Jorge Castillo adds that the deal contains an additional $2 million in performance-based incentives.
  • PIT Shortstop #19
Pirates activated SS/3B Jared Triolo from the 10-day injured list.
Triolo returns to Pittsburgh’s infield mix after missing nearly one month following right knee surgery. A couple things changed during his absence, most notably the top prospect in baseball, Konnor Griffin, taking over as the club’s starting shortstop in addition to signing a long-term contract extension. That qualifies as a notable development. Triolo will most likely function in a bench role, filling in occasionally across the infield dirt when needed.
  • PIT 3rd Baseman #38
Pirates optioned 3B/OF Nick Yorke to Triple-A Indianapolis.
Yorke has been jettisoned from Pittsburgh’s bench mix after hitting .221/.308/.309 with one homer and six RBI across 78 plate appearances over 23 games to open the season. He loses his spot with Jared Triolo returning from the injured list for Saturday’s game against the Reds.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #32
Chase Dollander will make a bulk relief appearance on Saturday against the Braves.
Colorado will have veteran reliever Brennan Bernardino face the left-handed heavy top of Atlanta’s lineup before turning things over to Dollander for a bulk outing. The 24-year-old former top pitching prospect has missed a ton of bats this season and has emerged as a viable mixed-league option, even when he takes the ball in Coors Field’s high-octane offensive environment.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #71
Orioles activated LHP Dietrich Enns from the 15-day injured list.
Enns returns to Baltimore’s bullpen following a nearly one-month absence recovering from a left foot infection. The 34-year-old lefty figures to jump back into middle relief duty against the Yankees this weekend.
