Red Sox manager Alex Cora has Wilyer Abreu penciled into right field for his team right now.
One imagines the Red Sox will bring in at least one outfielder this winter, but even if that happens, Abreu could still play right, with Jarren Duran occupying another spot and Masataka Yoshida serving primarily as a DH. Abreu was a nice surprise in limited action last season, batting .316/.388/.474 in 85 plate appearances. He’s not going to hit for that kind of average over a full season, but the power seems pretty legit.
