Carrillo, who was traded from the Dodgers to the Nationals in the Trea Turner and Max Scherzer deal, has spent two years on big league 40-man rosters but has yet to pitch above Double-A. He’ll likely be competing for a spot in the Rangers’ Triple-A bullpen.

Andrew Benitendi went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and three walks Wednesday in the White Sox’s 8-0 shutout of the Twins.

There’s something about Benintendi and the Twins. He has 17 homers against the franchise, which is six more than he has against any other club. 13 of those have come in 44 games at Target Field. Today’s game saw him draw three walks for the first time since 2022 and reach base safely five times for the first time since 2023. Benintendi also homered Monday, and he raised his OPS from .660 to .711 over the course of the three-game series.

Erick Fedde shut out the Twins for five innings to finally pick up his first win of the year Wednesday.

Fedde needed this after posting a 9.00 ERA and a 12/12 K/BB over 20 innings in his five starts last month. Although he’s now 1-5 on the season, the White Sox have actually managed to go 6-6 in his outings, including three victories in extra innings. Fedde is due to face the Braves next week.

Taj Bradley

MIN Starting Pitcher #26

Taj Bradley lost to the White Sox after allowing four runs and walking five in 4 2/3 innings Wednesday.

Bradley gave up seven hits along with the five walks, so this could have been worse. Bradley was effective in his return from the IL against the Red Sox on May 23, but he’s given up nine runs in 8 2/3 innings since. He had a 1.63 ERA in his first five starts this season but a 5.18 ERA in six starts since. It seems like a good idea to stick with him in a two-start week against the Tigers and Cardinals next week, but if he struggles then, mixed leaguers probably ought to move on.

Sam Antonacci

CWS 2nd Baseman

Sam Antonacci went 4-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and two runs scored Wednesday against the Twins.

Antonacci’s first three-hit game as a major leaguer came last week against Minnesota. Now he has a four-hit game versus the same team. He’s batting .291/.383/.391 with one homer and eight steals through 45 games as a major leaguer.

Colson Montgomery

CWS Shortstop #12

Colson Montgomery finished 0-for-6 with four strikeouts against the Twins on Wednesday.

Montgomery joins Tampa Bay’s Taylor Walls as the only players this season to go 0-for-6 with four K’s in a game. His two balls in play were actually 106- and 101-mph lineouts, but he wasn’t rewarded for either. He ends the series against the Twins having gone 0-for-12 with seven strikeouts.

Jasson Domínguez

NYY Left Fielder #24

Jasson Domínguez (shoulder) will kick off a minor league rehab assignment on Friday.

Domínguez has been given the all clear to get back into game action after taking live batting practice on Thursday without any issues. The Yankees could certainly use him back in their injury-depleted outfield mix, especially if Aaron Judge (ribs) winds up requiring a trip to the injured list. The 23-year-old former top prospect will likely need a couple games to get back up to speed before he’s ready to return to New York.

Max Fried

NYY Starting Pitcher #54

Max Fried (elbow) has been cleared to ramp up a throwing progression.

Fried remains limited to flat-ground throwing, but has been given the green light to start stretching out from a distance standpoint and should progress to a bullpen session in the near future. The 32-year-old fantasy ace remains without a definitive return timeline, but he’s probably going to be out through next month’s All-Star break given his current trajectory. He’s been on the injured list with a bone bruise in his left elbow since mid-May.

Geraldo Perdomo

AZ Shortstop #2

Geraldo Perdomo is back in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Dodgers.

Perdomo will get a look atop Arizona’s lineup after coming off the bench to deliver a pinch-hit single during Tuesday’s showdown at Chase Field. The 26-year-old fantasy standout has gotten off to a dreadful start, hitting .224/.332/.347 with 27 runs scored, three homers, 21 RBI and eight steals through 57 games.

Ketel Marte

AZ 2nd Baseman #4
Ketel Marte is out of the lineup for Wednesday’s showdown against the Dodgers.

Marte receives his first day off since May 17. He’s been one of the hottest hitters in baseball since that point, batting .377 (23-for-61) with five homers and 21 RBI during that 15-game stretch. It’ll be Ildemaro Vargas taking over at the keystone with Jose Fernandez covering first base in this one.

Ryan O’Hearn is not in the lineup for Wednesday’s contest against the Astros.

O’Hearn has gone 3-for-8 with one homer in a pair of games since returning from the injured list earlier this week. The 32-year-old takes a seat despite the presence of righty Spencer Arrighetti on the hill for Houston in this one. It’ll be Marcell Ozuna at DH as he draws his first start since May 27.
