Jeffrey Springs wasn’t at his best in Friday’s spring start against the Reds, allowing a run on three hits and a pair of walks over his two innings of work.
The 32-year-old southpaw struck out one in the ballgame. Springs struggled in the opening inning, allowing a single and a pair of walks, but he was able to rally and punch out Jake Fraley to end the threat. He then gave up a two-out triple to Will Benson in the second inning and Oliver Dunn followed with an RBI single to get the Reds on the board. Springs isn’t expected to have any workload restrictions for the 2025 season, so it’s all systems go from a fantasy perspective. His current average draft position seems more than fair as he sits outside the top 250 picks overall.
