Kyle Wright (shoulder, hamstring) threw a live bullpen session Thursday.
It was the first time facing hitters for Wright as a member of the Royals, and it’s worth pointing out that he was acquired by Kansas City at the end of 2023. The 29-year-old missed last year with a capsule strain in his shoulder, and he also suffered a setback with a hamstring strain in February. Wright could be an option for the Royals in the late spring, but there’s no timetable for a return just yet.

Rob Refsnyder hit a pinch-hit solo homer to give the Mariners a 2-1 win over the Cardinals on Sunday.
Trout blasts ninth homer off top of the wall
Mike Trout continued his excellent start to the year with a two-run shot off Royals' veteran Seth Lugo to put the Angels up early on Sunday Night Baseball.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #45
Jose Ferrer fired a scoreless ninth to pick up a save against the Cardinals on Sunday.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #36
Michael McGreevy limited the Mariners to just one run but didn’t qualify for a decision Sunday.
  • ATL 1st Baseman #28
Matt Olson went 1-for-4 and blasted a three-run homer on Sunday afternoon, powering the Braves to a 6-2 victory over the visiting Phillies.
Olson set the tone early in this one, launching a 3-1 fastball from Aaron Nola for a 399-foot (105.4 mph EV) three-run shot that proved to be all the run support that Chris Sale and company would require in this one. Olson is off to a tremendous start to the 2026 campaign, slashing .296/.374/.609 with eight homers and 25 RBI.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #26
Emerson Hancock allowed two runs over six innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Sunday.
The only runs Hancock allowed were on solo homers by Ryan Church in the sixth and JJ Wetherholt in the third. There was a good amount of hard contact against the right-hander, but he was able to limit the damage and kept Seattle in the game. Hancock now has a 2.86 ERA on the season, and he just may be earning a permanent spot in the Seattle rotation with how well he’s pitched. He’ll face the Royals on Saturday.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #51
Chris Sale delivered an absolutely dominant performance during Sunday’s victory over the Phillies, piling up nine strikeouts over six innings of shutout baseball.
The 37-year-old southpaw allowed just one hit on the afternoon — a two-out single by Trea Turner in the third inning — while issuing two free passes and hitting a batter. The only real threat against him came in the third inning as with two outs he plunked Rafael Marchan, allowed a single to Trea Turner and walked Kyle Schwarber to load the bases. Not to worry though, as he punched out Bryce Harper to quell the threat. Sale got 15 swings and misses on 100 pitches on the day — seven of them on his slider — while posting a CSW of 30 percent. He’ll look to further improve upon his elite 2.31 ERA and 0.91 WHIP when he does battle against the Rockies in Colorado on Saturday.
  • PHI Left Fielder #12
Kyle Schwarber went 1-for-3 and slugged a two-run homer on Sunday afternoon, accounting for all of the Phillies’ offense in a loss to the Braves in Atlanta.
Schwarber finally got the Phillies on the board in the eighth inning of this one, blasting a 3-2 curveball from Aaron Bummer for a 377-foot (103.4 mph EV) two-run shot, pulling the Phillies to within four runs at 6-2. He also walked in the ballgame. The 33-year-old slugger is hitting just .196/.344/.520 on the season, though he’s delivering in the power department with nine long balls and 17 RBI.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #27
Aaron Nola delivered another rough outing during Sunday’s loss to the Braves, giving up six runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings.
On the plus side for fantasy managers, he at least managed to punch out six batters on the afternoon while issuing three free passes. The Braves jumped on him early in this one, with Matt Olson slugging a three-run homer in the first inning and Eli White adding a two-run shot as part of a three-run second. Nola got 12 swings and misses on 101 offerings on the day, posting a CSW of 30 percent. He’ll try to pick up the pieces as he carries a miserable 6.03 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and a 35/13 K/BB ratio (31 1/3 innings) into Saturday’s matchup against the Marlins in Miami.
  • DET 1st Baseman #20
Spencer Torkelson tied a Tigers’ franchise record by homering in his fifth consecutive game as the Tigers bested the Reds 8-3 in their series finale in Cincinnati.
Torkelson entered play on Wednesday with zero home runs on the season. He now has five after crushing a 421-foot (107.3 mph EV) solo shot off of Sam Moll in the seventh inning on Sunday. He also smacked a pair of doubles in this one, finishing the afternoon 3-for-4 plus a walk. He’s now hitting .236/.364/.472 with five long balls and 12 RBI on the season. He’s worth a look in deeper mixed leagues if any fantasy managers got frustrated and dropped him last week.
  • DET 2nd Baseman #50
Hao-Yu Lee belted a go-ahead two-run homer in the seventh inning on Sunday, leading the Tigers to a come-from-behind victory over the Reds.
The 23-year-old pinch-hit for Colt Keith with left-hander Sam Moll on the mound with a man on first base and the Tigers down by a run in the seventh inning. He turned that one-run deficit into a one-run lead as he walloped a 1-0 fastball for a 402-foot (105.8 mph EV) two-run shot for his first home run in the big leagues. He struck out in his only other plate appearance in the game. Lee is now hitting .211/.250/.421 with a homer and three RBI in his first 20 plate appearances with the Tigers.
