The Braves are not considering removing Raisel Iglesias from the closer role.
Iglesias allowed two runs in his lone inning of work on Thursday against the Reds when he entered a tie ballgame in the ninth inning, but was ultimately bailed out when the Braves rallied in extra innings. The 35-year-old righty has surrendered six round-trippers this season, which is the most by any reliever in baseball. Still, the Braves are sticking with him as their closer for now. There aren’t a ton of viable alternatives from a speculative standpoint in Atlanta’s bullpen, but Pierce Johnson does have some closing experience, if Iglesias continues to struggle.
