Peralta gets another shot with the Rockies with fellow southpaw Ryan Rolison earning a demotion after a couple tough outings. The 24-year-old lefty has been crushed to the tune of a bloated 7.56 ERA across 8 1/3 innings (nine appearances) this season at the highest level. He’ll operate in middle relief for Colorado.

Marte gave the D-backs a pair of insurance runs with a two-run homer off Erik Miller in the seventh inning. It was an absolute tank, 113.7 mph off the bat while going 452 feet to left field. The 32-year-old second baseman has been on a tear over the last two weeks, with eight multi-hit games in his last 12. Marte is up to nine homers on the season while slashing .273/.324/.478 with 34 runs scored and 32 RBI across 222 plate appearances.

Casey Schmitt went 2-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Schmitt put the Giants on the board with a solo homer off Eduardo Rodriguez in the first inning, then drove in a run with a base hit in the third. The 27-year-old slugger is enjoying a red-hot May, with his sixth homer in the last ten games and eighth this month. Schmitt is up to 12 on the season while hitting .298/.339/.567 with 26 runs scored and 31 RBI across 192 plate appearances.

AZ Relief Pitcher #38

Paul Sewald gave up one run and struck out one batter in the ninth inning to record the save against the Giants on Tuesday.

Sewald entered in the ninth to close out the game with a three-run lead. He gave one run back on a solo homer by Willy Adames before striking out Casey Schmitt to end the game with his 13th save of the season.

Eduardo Rodriguez allowed two runs with six strikeouts over six innings in a win over the Giants on Tuesday.

Rodriguez surrendered a solo homer to Casey Schmitt in the first inning. A double and a base hit brought a second run in for the Giants in the third. Rodriguez settled in nicely, giving the Diamondbacks three more scoreless frames, ending his day after six with six strikeouts on his way to a win. The 33-year-old left-hander will take a 2.31 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 49/25 K/BB ratio across 66 1/3 innings into a start against the Dodgers in Arizona on Monday.

Tyler Mahle

SF Starting Pitcher #54

Tyler Mahle allowed three runs and struck out three batters over five innings in a loss against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Mahle pitched a scoreless first inning, then gave up three runs in the second on a walk, triple, sacrifice fly, and a solo homer. He settled in to give the Giants three more scoreless frames, scattering one more hit and two walks before departing after the fifth with three strikeouts. The 31-year-old right-hander will take a 6.04 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and a 57/24 K/BB ratio across 56 2/3 innings into a start against the Brewers in Milwaukee next Tuesday.

Shohei Ohtani

LAD Starting Pitcher #17

Shohei Ohtani remains scheduled to start Wednesday after getting hit on the hand and departing early Tuesday.

The Dodgers will take a wait-and-see approach on Ohtani’s availability as a DH. He was originally slated to hit Wednesday — a change from some of his recent starts on the mound — but if there’s any hand soreness at all, he’ll probably be restricted from double duty.

Enrique Hernández will go back on the injured list after leaving Tuesday’s game with an oblique strain.

Alex Freeland is coming back up to join the Dodgers. Hernández made it through just 1 1/2 games after missing the first two months following elbow surgery, but that’s fine... he’s really just here for October.

Andy Pages went 4-for-5 with a home run, three RBI, and three runs scored in the Dodgers’ 15-6 blowout win over the Rockies on Tuesday.

Pages took Kyle Freeland deep for a solo homer in the third inning, then doubled to plate two more runs in the fourth before stealing third and scoring on a sacrifice fly. He added a double and a run scored in the sixth for his third extra-base hit. A single in the seventh would make it a four-hit game for the 25-year-old outfielder. Pages is slashing an excellent .299/.348/.534 with 12 homers, 33 runs scored, 49 RBI, and seven steals across 224 plate appearances.

Mookie Betts went 3-for-5 with two homers and five RBI against the Rockies on Tuesday.

Betts got the scoring started for the Dodgers on Tuesday, taking Kyle Freeland deep for a two-run blast in the first inning. He added a single in the third, then later extended the lead with a three-run blast in the sixth off Zach Agnos to give him five RBI. Betts had just one hit in his previous four games before Tuesday’s offensive breakthrough. The 33-year-old shortstop is slashing .190/.250/.429 with six homers, 13 runs scored, and 15 RBI across 92 plate appearances.

Marsh said he hyperextended the finger, but that “we’re good.” Edmundo Sosa will probably start if Marsh can’t go on Wednesday.
