  • BOS 2nd Baseman #28

Boston Globe’s Tim Healey reports that the Red Sox are considering moving Kristian Campbell to the outfield full-time.
The Red Sox had experimented with Campbell at both second base and first base this season, trying to find a way to get his bat in the lineup quickly by having him play a position of need. However, he struggled defensively at second base, and the constant position changes appear to have also impacted his offensive performance. The outfield is Campbell’s best position defensively, and the Red Sox could use his right-handed bat in a left-handed-heavy group. Of course, Campbell moving to the outfield full-time only pours more fuel on the fire of rumors that Jarren Duran will be traded this offseason.

Heston Kjerstad (hamstring) will begin a minor league rehab assignment on Saturday with Double-A Chesapeake.
Kjerstad has been on the shelf recovering from a hamstring strain since the end of spring training. The 27-year-old former prospect doesn’t have much of a path to playing time in Baltimore once he’s fully healthy given their abundance of corner outfield depth. Still, it’s a positive sign to see him healthy and back in game action again after missing the final few months of last season in the minors with an undisclosed medical issue.
Cubs would be 'in shambles' without Imanaga
James Schiano discusses Shota Imanaga's performance against the Cincinnati Reds and how the pitcher has shaken off a rough end to the 2025 season.
  • CLE Catcher #14
Guardians acquired C Patrick Bailey from the Giants for LHP Matt Wilkinson and the 29th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft.
The stunning early-season trade is now official. Bailey is universally regarded as one of the top defensive specialists in the entire game and should immediately strengthen Cleveland’s entire pitching staff. The 26-year-old backstop is a non-factor at the plate, but he’s a two-time Gold Glove Award winner and seems to fit the mold of what the Guardians front office is looking for in a defensive-oriented starting catcher. It’ll be Bo Naylor heading to Triple-A while veteran Austin Hedges sticks around as his caddy. Bailey’s departure means the Giants are going to roll with youngsters Daniel Susac and Jesus Rodríguez as their catching tandem moving forward.
  • SF Starting Pitcher
Giants acquired LHP Matt Wilkinson and the 29th overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft for C Patrick Bailey.
The trade is now official. Wilkinson, affectionately nicknamed Tugboat, has posted astronomical strikeout rates in the lower minors the last couple years and has looked outstanding at Double-A Akron this season, registering a microscopic 1.59 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 36/9 K/BB ratio across 28 1/3 innings over six starts. The 23-year-old southpaw has a chance to reach the majors next season and projects as a bat-missing back-of-the-rotation X-factor for the Giants, who also pick up a first-round selection in the deal to use later this summer.
  • CLE Catcher #23
Guardians optioned C Bo Naylor to Triple-A Columbus.
Naylor’s departure coincides with defensive wizard Patrick Bailey’s arrival in Cleveland following a trade with the Giants. The 26-year-old backstop is hitting .143/.200/.238 with two homers in 28 games this season and has batted .199 in 346 games at the highest level since 2022. Veteran defensive specialist Austin Hedges will stick around in a backup role behind Bailey.
  • SF Catcher #14
ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports the Guardians are acquiring catcher Austin Hedges from the Giants for a 2026 first-round draft pick and left-handed pitching prospect Matt Wilkinson.
It’s the first significant trade to hit the baseball world this season as San Francisco begins pivoting towards a more long-term rebuilding project after an abysmal start to the year. Bailey is widely regarded as one of the top defensive catchers in baseball and seems like the perfect fit for Cleveland’s front office, which has employed light-hitting defensive wizard Austin Hedges for more than a half-decade. The first-round pick will be the 29th overall selection in the 2026 MLB Draft while Wilkinson is one of the more intriguing left-handed prospects in the game. He’s put up astronomical strikeout totals in the lower minors and has looked extremely impressive at the Double-A level this season. There aren’t a lot of fantasy takeaways from this deal, but Bailey should help improve Cleveland’s entire pitching staff.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #29
Pete Fairbanks (hand) threw a bullpen session on Friday.
Fairbanks is making steady progress towards returning to Miami’s bullpen after hitting the injured list with nerve irritation in his pitching hand back on April 28. The 32-year-old closer might be able to return without a rehab assignment, but that decision won’t be made until he starts facing hitters again. The Marlins could certainly use the help at the back-end of their bullpen.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #18
Ryan Feltner (elbow) completed a high-intensity bullpen session on Friday.
Feltner hit the shelf with nerve irritation in his elbow back on April 24. He’ll need at least a couple minor league rehab outings before he’s ready to jump back into Colorado’s rotation later this month.
  • CWS Catcher #8
Kyle Teel (hamstring) is closing in on a minor league rehab assignment.
White Sox general manager Chris Getz told reporters Teel is scheduled to run the bases this weekend, which would be his final step before heading out on a rehab assignment next week. The 24-year-old backstop has been brought along slowly in his recovery from a hamstring strain that he suffered during the World Baseball Classic. He should be ready to make his season debut by the end of May.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #62
Logan Webb (knee) is on track to make his next start on Monday against the Dodgers.
There was some concern that Webb would need some time off after experiencing left knee discomfort during his previous start against the Padres. The 29-year-old workhorse appears on track to make his next start against the Dodgers on Monday. However, fantasy managers should continue monitoring his status leading into next week.
  • CIN Starting Pitcher #21
Hunter Greene (elbow) is on track to progress to bullpen sessions by the end of May.
There haven’t been a ton of updates on Greene’s return timeline but this would qualify as a significant step since he’s been limited to flat-ground throwing for the last few weeks. The 26-year-old fantasy ace is targeting a midseason return to Cincinnati’s rotation after undergoing surgery to remove bone chips and loose bodies from his elbow back in early March.
