The A’s protected Nett from the Rule 5 draft this offseason after he registered a 3.75 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and 116/48 K/BB ratio in 105 2/3 innings at Double-A last year.

Pederson’s home run was his ninth. He hit a two-run shot off Mike Paredes in the third inning. Pederson hit six home runs in the month of May, but started June with 11 consecutive games without leaving the yard. With Corey Seager (concussion) sidelined, the Rangers need Pederson to heat up again and provide power from the left side of the plate.

Buxton’s home run was his 23rd of the season. He hit a solo shot off MacKenzie Gore to start the Twins’ half of the sixth inning. Buxton is on pace to have perhaps his best season. While he has just six steals after stealing 24 bases last year, he’s on pace to hit at least 40 home runs for the first time in his career. Buxton should be a lock for the All-Star Game.

Bell’s home run was his eighth of the season. He hit a three-run shot off MacKenzie Gore in the first inning. Bell is hitting just .236, but he has 43 RBI. That still gives him some value in AL-Only formats and deeper mixed leagues.

Gore gave up four hits, walked two and struck out 10. He fell to 4-6 with the loss. Gore gave up two home runs to the Twins, which hasn’t been his problem this year as he’s allowed only eight home runs in 78 innings. Gore walked two batters and one scored on Josh Bell’s three-run homer in the first inning. The 27-year-old left-hander has a 10 percent walk percentage, which would be the highest of his career since his rookie since in 2022. He’ll take a 4.27 ERA into his next start against the Padres on Sunday.

Paredes gave up four hits, walked none and struck out two. The 25-year-old right-hander was making just his second start and he hasn’t thrown more than 65 pitches in any of his four appearances for the Twins. That doesn’t give Paredes much of a pathway to fantasy value. He’s lined up to start again for the Twins against the Diamondbacks this weekend.

Bleday’s home run was his 13th of the year. He hit a three-run shot off David Peterson in the eighth inning. Bleday’s home run came with the game already out of reach, making a 9-0 lead 12-0. Still, Bleday has been a revelation for the Reds and fantasy managers this season. He’s hitting .272 with 34 RBI and a .953 OPS.

Suárez’ two-homer game brings his total to seven this year. He hit a two-run shot off Tobias Myers in the first inning and a grand slam off Jonathan Pintaro in the second inning. After hitting 49 home runs with 118 RBI a year ago, it seems impossible that Suárez could have 25 RBI in 45 games, but here we are. His .222 average and .682 OPS haven’t helped, but Monday’s performance could be a sign that Suárez will rebound in the power department.

Myers gave up four hits, walked three and struck out one. He fell to 0-2 with a 5.71 ERA. Myers was put in a tough spot as he was recalled from Triple-A once Christian Scott (hip) was placed on the IL. Predictably, a road matchup against the Reds on short notice went poorly. Myers was already out of the game when Eugenio Suarez hit the grand slam to make it 9-0 with seven of the runs being Myers’ responsibility. He’s lined up to face the Phillies on the road this weekend, but Myers isn’t a recommended fantasy option at this point.

Burns gave up four hits, walked three and struck out seven. He improved to 8-1 with the win. Burns had five of his strikeouts in the first two innings and then took the mound in the third inning with a 9-0 lead. He lowered his ERA to 2.01. Burns will face the Yankees on the road on Sunday in his next start.

Crooks got the start behind the plate in this one and put St. Louis ahead for good with a fourth-inning double into the left-center field gap. It wound up being more than enough run support for Cardinals starter Dustin May, who went the distance for his first career shutout.
