White Sox LHP prospect Noah Schultz posted nine strikeouts and allowed two runs — one earned — over five innings on Wednesday for Triple-A Charlotte.
Schultz authored a masterful performance, generating 14 swinging strikes and finishing with a ridiculous 44 percent CSW. The towering 22-year-old southpaw was one of the top pitching prospects in baseball before knee issues last year re-routed his trajectory in the wrong direction. His velocity remains up across the board as he’s sitting back in the mid-to-upper 90’s with his fastball and continues getting whiffs on his curveball. He holds a microscopic 1.29 ERA with a 19/2 K/BB ratio across 14 innings through three starts this season. It feels like only a matter of time before the White Sox are forced to give him a shot at the highest level.

Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that the Mets plan on reinstating Juan Soto (calf) off the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
Soto has missed the majority of April while recovering from his strained right calf, and the Mets have clearly missed the slugger over the past few weeks. The 27-year-old may get some days off to stay fresh and avoid an aggravation, but fantasy managers need to be prepared to have Soto in their lineup starting Wednesday.
Trout, Witt Jr. face off on Sunday Night Baseball
It's a clash of veteran starpower and emerging studs as Mike Trout leads the Angels into Kansas City for a meeting with Bobby Witt Jr. and the Royals on Sunday Night Baseball. Watch on Peacock at 7 p.m. ET.
  • MIN Starting Pitcher #60
Twins recalled LHP Kendry Rojas from Triple-A St. Paul.
Rojas is up with Kody Funderburk officially placed on the paternity list. The 23-year-old will make his MLB debut if/when he gets a chance to pitch in the next week.
  • MIN Relief Pitcher #57
Twins placed LHP Kody Funderburk on the paternity list.
Funderburk will be away from the team for up to three days. Kendry Rojas is up to take his spot on the roster.
  • MIN 3rd Baseman #23
Twins activated INF Royce Lewis off the 10-day injured list.
It was a short stint on the IL for Lewis after dealing with a right knee sprain. The 26-year-old is back and will assuredly be in the lineup on a consistent basis, although Minnesota may give him some maintenance days to (hopefully) prevent further issue.
  • BAL Catcher #23
Orioles designated C Sam Huff for assignment.
Huff’s services are no longer required in Baltimore with Adley Rutschman coming off the 10-day injured list from his ankle injury. The former top prospect will hit the waiver wire, and he’ll have a choice to report back to Norfolk or hit free agency if he’s unclaimed.
  • BAL Catcher #35
Orioles activated C Adley Rutschman off the 10-day injured list.
Rutschman missed just the minimum amount of time while dealing with inflammation in his ankle. The 28-year-old is back and will resume starting catching duties, with an occasional start at designated hitter here and there.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher
Red Sox RHP prospect Juan Valera will indeed have an MRI on his elbow.
Valera left his last start with elbow soreness, but the team said on Monday that he would not need an X-ray or MRI. A day later, he is heading for an MRI. That’s a bit concerning, considering the 19-year-old missed three months last season with an elbow issue. We could be looking at an extended absence for the Red Sox’s fifth-ranked prospect.
  • ATL Starting Pitcher #46
Braves recalled LHP Dylan Dodd from Triple-A Gwinnett.
With Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) going on the injured list, Dodd will be called up to take his place on the roster. He won’t be the closer; that will be Robert Suarez, but Dodd will be used to fill middle relief innings.
  • ATL Relief Pitcher #26
Braves placed RHP Raisel Iglesias on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation.
Iglesias was surprisingly not available to close Saturday’s game, and the Braves said he slept on his arm wrong and would be fine. The veteran then returned to notch a save on Sunday night, but he walked one and gave up a hit, and didn’t look sharp. Two days later, he’s landed on the injured list with shoulder inflammation. The expectation is that this won’t be a long stint on the IL, but Michael King also “slept on his arm wrong” last year and wound up missing almost three months with a nerve issue. While Iglesias is out, Robert Suarez becomes a top-five closer option in fantasy baseball and needs to be added everywhere. Hopefully the Iglesias manager already scooped him up last week when the injury first popped up.
  • BOS Starting Pitcher
Red Sox promoted LHP Eduardo Rivera to Triple-A Worcester.
The 22-year-old looked great in two starts at Double-A this season, allowing one run on six hits in 10 innings with a 16/3 K/BB ratio. However, this says more about the Red Sox’s lack of starting pitching depth. With Sonny Gray (hamstring) on the injured list, and all of Kutter Crawford, Johan Oviedo, Tanner Houck, and Patrick Sandoval on the injured list, the Red Sox don’t have many starting pitching options at Triple-A. Payton Tolle is likely being called up to the big leagues to take Gray’s spot in the rotation, which leaves Jake Bennett and Tyler Uberstine as the only true starting-pitcher options at Worcester. The Red Sox will hope not to have to turn to Rivera as an option this season, but he’s now one step closer.
