What a week for Jackson. This two-out home put the finishing touches in a six-run eighth inning that the Orioles entered trailing 4-0. Over his last seven games, he has five home runs, 13 RBI, and a .429 batting average. It’s hard to have a better week than that and the Orioles might have a difficult decision on their hands with Jackson Holliday due back relatively soon from his broken hamate bone and the expectation that he could unseat Jackson at second base.

Simply put, there was no possible way to get this game in with widespread showers in the forecast throughout the afternoon and evening at Yankee Stadium. It’ll be made up as a doubleheader on September 22. Saturday’s original starting pitchers — Drew Rasmussen and Ryan Weathers — will presumably get the ball on Sunday afternoon instead.

It doesn’t come as a total surprise to see Schwarber looking a bit rusty after missing three consecutive games due to illness earlier this week. The 33-year-old slugger leads the majors with 20 home runs this season and has been arguably the hottest hitter in baseball since the start of May. He’s going to be just fine.

Ronald Acuña Jr. went 0-for-4 with a walk against the Nationals on Friday in his return to the lineup.

Acuña reached base just once in five plate appearances out of the leadoff spot during the 11-inning marathon that ended with Chadwick Tromp’s walk-off single. The 28-year-old fantasy superstar made it back into Atlanta’s lineup after suffering a bone bruise in his left thumb during Thursday’s contest against the Marlins. It doesn’t appear that Acuña will require any additional time off, but it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see the Braves carefully manage his workload this weekend.

Brandon Nimmo went 2-for-5 with a solo homer in Friday’s loss to the Angels.

Nimmo was back in Texas’ lineup after making an early exit from Wednesday’s contest with hamstring tightness. The 33-year-old took Angels starter Grayson Rodriguez deep in the fourth inning for his sixth round-tripper of the season. He also added a run-scoring double in the seventh as part of a multi-hit effort.

Yandy Díaz went 0-for-3 with a walk on Friday against the Yankees in his return to the lineup.

The Rays and fantasy managers caught a break when Díaz managed to avoid serious injury after taking a pitch off his fingers on both hands earlier this week. The 34-year-old on-base machine, who has been one of the top hitters in the American League this season, wound up missing only one game after X-rays and a CT scan didn’t reveal any fractures.

Crawford is expected to see action at the hot corner with top prospect Colt Emerson in the majors until further notice. The 31-year-old infielder returned to Seattle’s lineup for Friday’s series opener following a two-game absence due to a lingering triceps issue. It’s worth noting that he was back at shortstop with Emerson at the hot corner on Friday night.

Grisham was back in the leadoff spot and patrolling center field following a brief one-game absence due to left knee discomfort. Logan Webb (knee) threw 62 pitches over 3 1/3 innings on Friday in a minor league rehab start for Triple-A Sacramento.

The widely-held expectation is that Webb will jump back into San Francisco’s rotation to face the division-rival Diamondbacks next week. The 29-year-old upper-echelon fantasy starter hit the shelf back in early May with right knee bursitis.
