Ryan Feltner (elbow) completed a high-intensity bullpen session on Friday.

Feltner hit the shelf with nerve irritation in his elbow back on April 24. He’ll need at least a couple minor league rehab outings before he’s ready to jump back into Colorado’s rotation later this month.

Phillies option RHP Kyle Backhus from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Backhus will head down with Max Lazar getting the promotion from Triple-A. The 28-year-old provides some bullpen depth before the break.

Playoffs not a guarantee for 'darling' White Sox
Drew Dinsick and Vaughn Dalzell break down the Chicago White Sox slim chances of making the playoffs, where despite massive improvements from past seasons, the AL Central leaders don't have enough going for them.

Phillies recalled RHP Max Lazar from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Lazar, 27, will be up for the first time since he was demoted June 21. The right-hander gives Philadelphia a fresh middle-inning arm.

Colin Selby (shoulder) will visit with Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles at the end of July.

Selby is seeking a second opinion on the shoulder issue that has kept him from being able to pitch at all in 2026. The 28-year-old right-hander would likely be out for a large portion of the 2027 season if he were to undergo an operation, but that will largely be determined how that meeting with Dr. ElAttrache goes.

The Red Sox are hopeful that Ranger Suarez will not need to be placed on the 15-day injured list.

Suarez left Sunday’s start with tightness in his left adductor. The Red Sox won’t have to make a decision until Saturday — although it could come sooner if the team wants to add a bullpen arm — as that’s his next scheduled outing before the All-Star break. It’s worth noting that the All-Star break will start after that weekend, so if Suarez did miss that start and needed to hit the shelf, he may only miss a couple of turns.

Brewers transferred OF Brandon Lockridge from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

Lockridge underwent arthroscopic knee surgery near the end of June, and isn’t expected to be back until the end of July at the earliest. This move opens up a space on the 40-man roster for Greg Jones, who was called up to replace David Hamilton (hamstring) in corresponding transactions.

Brewers selected the contract of OF Greg Jones from Triple-A Nashville.

Jones will get another shot with the Brewers after David Hamilton was placed on the injured list with a hamstring strain. The 28-year-old will be a bench option capable of playing multiple positions, which provides far more value for the Brewers than fantasy players.

Brewers placed INF David Hamilton on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.

Hamilton will be out through at least the break with the strain, which he suffered during Monday’s game against the Cardinals. The 28-year-old will be replaced on the roster by Greg Jones.

Mariners president of operations Jerry Dipoto told reporters that Dominic Canzone will see regular playing time against left-handed pitching.

Canzone began the year strictly playing against right-handers, but his success with the bat — he’s hitting .273/.349/.551 with 14 homers — and injuries have seen him see more playing time against southpaws, and it’s going to become more consistent. The 28-year-old was strong with the bat as well in 2025, and it’s time to take Canzone more seriously as an option, even as a player who won’t steal a ton of bases and may be due for some regression in the average category.

Willson Contreras has been named as a replacement for the 2026 American League All-Star team.

Contreras was a surprise snub from the initial rosters that were released Saturday, but the 34-year-old is unsurprisingly going to be a part of the festivities. Even if Contreras was to start serving his suspension — he’s appealing a seven-game ban currently — he should be available to play in Philadelphia.

Orioles recalled LHP Nick Raquet from Triple-A Norfolk.

Raquet provides a second left-hander in the bullpen for the Orioles. The 30-year-old will head up with Cameron Weston already sent down by the Orioles on Monday. Expect Raquet to be up-and-down for much of 2026.
