Holmes recorded five of his first six outs via strikeout before the game went into a one-hour rain delay. He returned and stranded the bases loaded in the third, then gave up a solo homer to Dylan Crews in the fourth. Jorbit Vivas then took Holmes deep for a solo homer in the fifth. Holmes’ day would be done after the five innings. He generated an impressive 18 whiffs to strike out a season-high 10 batters. The 30-year-old right-hander will take a 3.78 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 48/24 K/BB ratio across 52 1/3 innings into a start against the Reds in Cincinnati on Friday.

If so, Anthony could be sent out for a rehab assignment in the near future. This is good news for his eventual return, but dry swings don’t make it feel like he’s going to be back this weekend. Hopefully more optimistic news follows.

It appears to be just a routine day off. Bell is hitting .223/.288/.346 this year, and has a .585 OPS in the month of May. Hopefully you rode that early-April hot streak if you were using Bell in a deep league.

It doesn’t sound like Woodruff is remotely close to returning yet, but this is another step in the right direction as the Brewers try to get his velocity back in the low-to-mid-90s rather than the 80-mph fastballs that forced him out of his final start in May.

Sandlin, the major piece the White Sox got for taking on Jordan Hicks’ contract, will be making his major league debut after six starts split between Single-A Winston-Salem and Triple-A Charlotte. He had a 0.55 ERA with 26 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings during those outings. The inning count is low enough that we’re not counting on him to go long enough to qualify for wins, but he could be effective out of the gate against the Twins if he can command his stuff.

Schultz had some promising starts early on, but pitched to a 5.82 ERA in eight starts with 22 walks in 38 2/3 innings. He’d allowed 19 earned runs in his last four starts before being placed on the injured list, so perhaps his knee was bothering him at some point during that stretch. Should he get healthy again, he’ll be back on the monitor list in most leagues.

Crow probably isn’t more than a streaming option at this point, but figures to take Logan Henderson’s spot in the rotation tomorrow against the Cardinals. Crow has a 2.61 ERA in 10 1/3 innings over his two spot starts so far this year, striking out seven.

The Brewers estimate that Henderson will return in late June. Tough break for fantasy managers, as Henderson had been rock solid since being called up. He currently boasts a 2.74 ERA and 1.04 WHIP. He’s worth holding in most leagues if you have the injured list spot. Shallow league managers with no injured list spots face a tougher decision.

Scholtens had been more-or-less used as a bulk man this year, with two starts and nine appearances, but 37 2/3 innings pitched. He had a 3.82 ERA and a 5.35 FIP, with 30 strikeouts and 11 walks. Tampa will have to find a new bulk pitcher going forward since they signed Craig Kimbrel to Scholten’s empty 40-man roster spot.

It’s a major league contract and Kimbrel will be available to pitch tonight. This move comes with little fantasy value at the moment as Kimbrel has mostly been used as a mop-up reliever for the Mets this year. It’s possible the Rays could squeeze some magic out of him that the Mets couldn’t, though.

That makes two days in a row Schanuel has sat since leaving with calf tightness on Saturday night. Vaughn Grissom is batting third and playing first base in Schanuel’s absence tonight.
