Dallas Goedert hopes to get going in Zach Ertz‘s absence, T.J. Hockenson looks to keep cooking vs. Philadelphia, and Rob Gronkowski returns against the Saints.

TE Notes: Travis Kelce is still easily pacing all tight ends in fantasy points despite the Chiefs’ recent struggles. … The Week 7 Kyle Pitts stat I can’t get over is that five of his seven receptions went for 20-plus yards. You almost never see that with a receiver, let alone a “tight end.” Having now ripped struggling defenses both before and after Atlanta’s Week 6 bye, Pitts gets another in the collapsing Panthers. I was a summer bear on Pitts because of course I was. After seven weeks, the bull case is all that’s left. … Although the Dolphins might finally be getting back DeVante Parker (shoulder, hamstring), Will Fuller (finger) will miss another game. Like Kyle Pitts, Mike Gesicki is barely playing any actual in-line tight end. In the hottest stretch of his career, Gesicki will be severely tested by Matt Milano‘s Bills. … For the second time this season, T.J. Hockenson has 20 targets in a two-game stretch. He should be able to keep up the 10-look pace against a bottomed-out Eagles defense that has no talent at any of the key tight end-stopping positions.
If Rob Gronkowski finally returns from his broken ribs, he will slot into the TE5-7 range. … Dalton Schultz has caught at least five passes on six-plus targets every game but one. Even if Michael Gallup returns for Week 8, the Vikings seem unlikely to break Schultz’s usage cycle. … In Dallas Goedert‘s first “life after Ertz” game he caught … three passes on five targets. Thankfully, he turned them into a season-high 70 yards. It just remains fair to wonder how high Goedert’s ceiling really is, even for good matchups like Sunday’s date with the Lions. Jalen Hurts seems incapable of providing fantasy points to any Eagle but himself. … Noah Fant will face new competition for layup looks from a returning Jerry Jeudy. Aside from two 10-target performances, Fant did disappointingly little with his Jeudy-free time. … Ricky Seals-Jones has done all fantasy managers could reasonably hope for as a fill-in TE1. 5/50 remains a realistic hope against the Broncos. … Matchups have not really mattered for Tyler Higbee, though they don’t come better than the Texans. Only two teams have permitted more seam points.
Big Bob Tonyan rose from the ashes just in time for the Packers’ entire receiver corps to land on the COVID-19 list. The Pack will essentially be forced to get Tonyan more involved on Thursday evening, though it will be against a Cardinals defense handing out the fewest tight end fantasy points. … There will probably remain enough injured Giants wide receivers to keep Evan Engram in the usage-based TE1 mix vs. the Chiefs’ barely-there defense. … Zach Ertz was a hit in his Cardinals debut, albeit on five targets. More looks are going to be difficult to come by in this spread-out attack. … Hunter Henry is living off touchdowns. There are worse formulas against a defense silver plattering the second most TE fantasy points. … It’s been spiked week or bust for C.J. Uzomah, though that is more than you can say for most tight ends. You like anyone’s odds of a spiked week in Florham Park. … Mo Alie-Cox has yet to surpass the three-catch mark but with four touchdowns in four games, the red zone price is right. … Dan Arnold has 13 targets over his past two games. Do with that information what you will.
