Carson Schwesinger (ankle) is questionable for Cleveland’s Week 6 game against the Ravens.

Schwesinger played through a high-ankle sprain last year, so we anticipate he’s more likely to be active than not after returning to practice today. The second-year star linebacker will likely attempt to power through against the Ravens.

Mike Florio previews a potential game of 'broadcaster roulette' in the NFL, with rumors of Troy Aikman potentially leaving Monday Night Football before the end of the season.

Mason Graham is expected to miss multiple weeks with an ankle injury of his own and Maliek Collins missed today’s practice with a foot injury. That’s three front-seven starters potentially out for Week 6. With Lamar Jackson still banged up, expect the Ravens to give Derrick Henry all the touches he can handle this week.
  • Schwesinger has not been ruled out for Week 6’s game against the Ravens, and attempted to play through the injury at one point. With a big AFC North matchup on tap for this week, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Browns gave Schwesinger every opportunity to play. His practice status will be one to keep an eye on throughout the week. The 2025 Defensive Rookie of the Year has totaled 43 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble this season.
  • Schwesinger notched 156 total tackles, 67 solo tackles, 2.5 sacks, 11 TFLs, three pass breakups and two interceptions despite missing Week 18 with a high-ankle sprain. It was an extremely impressive season for the No. 33 overall pick in last year’s draft.
  • Schewsinger battled through 16 games despite an ankle injury and looks to be the favorite to walk away with the defensive rookie of the year award after posting 156 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and two interceptions in his inaugural season. Bengals running backs could operate a little more freely than usual in Week 18.
  • Schwesinger suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 8’s loss to the Patriots. The rookie linebacker avoided landing on injured reserve, but only managed to get on the field for one practice this week. The questionable designation may be a bit too optimistic for Schwesinger this week, but he’s clearly trending toward a return and could be good to go for Week 11 if not this week.
  • Now that we have the diagnosis, it’s safe to assume the rookie second-rounder is likely looking at a multi-week absence. Schwesinger has stepped in to make an immediate impact for the Browns’ defense this season, leading the team with 64 tackles while also tallying one interception, one sack, and four TFLs. The Browns are now entering their Week 9 bye. If they believe Schwesinger, who will be reevaluated after the bye, can return inside of the four-game minimum he would be required to miss on injured reserve, it’s possible they opt to keep him on the roster in hopes of a return in 2-3 weeks. Regardless, his loss is a massive one for a defensive unit that has been among the league’s best despite their 2-6 record.
  • Owusu-Kormaoah reported to Browns offseason activities last month, but didn’t practice with the team after suffering a serious neck injury in Week 8 against the Ravens last season. The Browns released a statement saying that they “will not make any predictions on Jeremiah’s football future at this time.” Landing on the reserve/PUP list means that Owusu-Koramoah will miss the entire 2025 season. Second-round pick Carson Schwesigner would seem to have a chance to compete for a starting role in his rookie season.
  • CLE Running Back
Sampson (5'8/200) totaled both the fourth-most offensive touches (278) and missed tackles forced (83) among Power Five running backs last season, despite his compact frame. He is not guaranteed a year one role with Quinshon Judkins set to start and Jerome Ford still in-house but Sampson should be on re-draft radars as a player to watch in training camp. The Browns announced Sampson’s signing in conjunction with second-round pick LB Carson Schwesinger. Per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Schwesinger became just “the second second-round pick in NFL history to have a fully guaranteed deal.”
  • Schwesinger (6’2/242) walked onto UCLA in 2021 with the hopes of being a FBS football player and quickly established himself as a valuable member of the Bruins’ roster. He earned a scholarship in 2022 as a special teams ace and part-time ‘backer who racked up 27 tackles in 26 games over the next two seasons before ascending to a starting role in 2024. He made the most of the opportunity, leading the FBS with 90 solo and 136 total tackles with 8.5 TFLs, 50 stops and 4.0 sacks while playing in 12 games. The First Team All-American excelled in every phase of the game, especially rushing the passer where he earned a 90th percentile rush grade. Schwesinger is extremely elusive and flexible when blitzing, as his absurd 27.4% pressure rate will attest, disguising his intentions right up until it’s time to go leaving blockers confused with their assignments. A smart, twitched up player whose motor runs hot, he possesses advanced instincts and knows how to get skinny to slip around blocks. His svelte frame affects his ability to take on pulling linemen, but his relentless determination and athleticism make Schwesinger a complete three-down linebacker prospect.

Christian Kirk (calf) is questionable for Week 6 against the Commanders.

Kirk is a candidate to be activated from injured reserve ahead of Monday’s game against the Commanders. His status is worth tracking considering the absence of Deebo Samuel and general lack of depth at the position. Fantasy managers could be forced to wait until Week 7 for more fidelity considering the team plays in the final game of Week 6.

Mike Evans (ribs, Achilles) is questionable for Week 6 against the Commanders.

Evans was unable to practice through Friday but ultimately did enough to land a questionable tag with multiple injury designations. However likely it is that Evans continues to play through various ailments, fantasy managers could look to make alternate plans considering the timing of the 49ers’ game on Monday.

49ers ruled out Deebo Samuel (hamstring) for Week 6 against the Commanders.

Samuel will be forced to miss Week 6 with a hamstring injury sustained in the team’s Week 5 win over the Seahawks, leaving the team extremely thin at wide receiver. They could get a small boost with Christian Kirk a candidate to be activated from injured reserve ahead of Monday’s game, although Mike Evans is also listed as questionable.

Caleb Williams (hamstring) will start in Week 6 against the Falcons.

This was expected to be the case but is now confirmed by sources close to the team. Williams returns after missing the previous three games as the Bears look to claw their way back into contention in a crowded NFC North division. Consider it a sizable boost for all Chicago pass catchers.

Patriots activated A.J. Brown (ankle) from injured reserve.

Brown makes his return from a four-game absence following a Week 1 injury to his ankle, reintegrating into an offense that has found their stride in recent weeks. After leading the league in turnovers through the first three games, quarterback Drake Maye has accounted for a league-leading eight touchdowns since Week 4. Although Brown could be on a snap count in his first game back, fantasy managers have to be feeling ecstatic to get their second round pick back on the field.

Eagles placed Jalen Hurts (blood clots) on injured reserve.

Whelp, that reversed course quickly. It was reported earlier Saturday that the team was not planning on placing their franchise quarterback on injured reserve, with the team going back on those comments less than seven hours later. Although not yet fully evident, it appears as if additional information was ascertained during the day. There is no telling how long Hurts will be away from the team, with most recent reporting simply labeling it an “indefinite” absence. Tanner McKee steps into the starting role and could be worthy of deep league consideration as a QB2, for the foreseeable future.

Commanders ruled out Marcus Mariota (knee) for Week 6 against the 49ers.

Mariota will miss his second straight contest and third of the season when the Commanders face the 49ers on Monday Night Football. Athan Kaliakmanis will continue to serve as the primary backup.

Steelers placed Roman Wilson (finger) on injured reserve.

Wilson suffered a dislocated finger in the team’s Week 5 game against the Colts and will now miss four games, at minimum, while on injured reserve. His absence paves the way for rookie Germie Bernard to continue to see increased opportunities. Fantasy managers can start Bernard as a viable FLEX option in Week 6 against the pass-funnel Buccaneers.

Stefon Diggs (hamstring) is questionable for Week 6 against the 49ers.

Diggs returned to the practice field Friday as a limited participant, following it with another practice with the same status a day later. The listed his as questionable for Monday Night Football against the 49ers as he attempts to return from a one-game absence due to a hamstring injury. Fantasy managers might be better off playing it safe considering the timing of the game.

Commanders ruled out RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt (groin) for Week 6 against the 49ers.

No surprise here. Croskey-Merritt has been dealing with a groin injury since the start of the season. This week he couldn’t practice and has since been officially ruled out for the Commanders’ Monday Night Football matchup against the 49ers. Croskey-Merritt will get a two-week break with Washington on bye in Week 7. Rachaad White and Austin Ekeler figure to handle the majority of the backfield touches in his absence with White being the preferred fantasy option between the two.
