Duffy putted well on Sunday and finished in a T7 position. He’s played well in his last couple of events.

The Duffster has four Top 10’s this year. His highest finish is a 4th place at The International.

Waldorf hasn’t had any fantasy value in years but we’ve been tracking his status since he had knee surgery in May 2008. If he doesn’t withdraw before his tee time at TPC San Antonio next week, it will serve as his final start on his medical extension in the reshuffle category. The purse at the VTO is $6.2 million, which means that if Waldorf is going to earn a promotion in status, he needs to win the tournament since a solo second would fall short of his goal for the medical by $50,708. To secure conditional status, he needs to bank $405,514 which would be achieved with a four-way T2 worth $409,200 or a solo third that pays $421,600. Short of that and he’ll tumble into the Past Champions category.

Waldorf was the second alternate when the field was released on Friday afternoon. He gained entry after two withdrawals this morning. This will mark his 15th appearance at the HPBNC, but just his second in the last six editions. He missed the cut last year. Waldorf has virtually zero fantasy value. He’s on Past Champion status and will turn 50 years of age in just over three months.

He pocketed $10,380.00 for his effort, his fourth payday in as many starts this year, but it leaves him with one start on his medical extension in the reshuffle to earn $720,308 and an elevation into the Major Medical Extension category. To secure conditional status, he’ll need to bank $405,514 in his next start. Short of that and he’ll fall into the Past Champions category for the remainder of the year.

Waldorf lost his status in the reshuffle after failing to meet the terms of his medical extension at last week’s Valero Texas Open. He will play out of the Past Champions category for the remainder of the year.

This will do it for his fully exempt status on the PGA TOUR. Waldorf needed at worst a four-way share of second place or solo third to secure conditional status for the remainder of the year. Instead, he’ll fall $405,514 short of that secondary goal. Only a victory at the VTO would have elevated him to a higher spot in the overall pecking order since he finished $720,308 short of meeting the terms of his medical extension.

He completed 72 holes in 2-under-par 73-69-74-70=286, earning $8,484.00. He’s 3-for-3 on the year but still hasn’t cracked a top 25 since June 2007. This leaves him with two starts on his medical extension in the reshuffle category to earn $730,688 and get elevated to the Major Medical category.

He started the day in a two-way tie for sixth but couldn’t get anything to drop on the greens. Waldorf hit 12 of them in regulation today but needed 32 putts. He swallowed three bogeys and a double to overshadow a lone birdie. The $32,755.55 paycheck leaves him with four starts on his medical extension in the reshuffle category to earn $751,412 and get elevated to the Major Medical category.

If there’s any good news, it’s that he’s cashed in four consecutive starts for the first time since the first half of 2007. He now has three starts remaining on his medical extension in the reshuffle to earn $739,172 and get elevated to the Major Medical category.
