He added that a broken finger is only one of the injuries he sustained but he didn’t elaborate. This is just the latest in a litany of setbacks for the 47-year-old. Whenever he returns, he has 12 starts on a Major Medical Extension to earn $620,087 and retain status.

The Swede was bogey-free 2-under through his first 13 holes on Thursday but played his remaining 23 holes in 13-over. Overall, he swallowed nine bogeys and two triples. This leaves him with 13 starts on his Major Medical Extension to earn $630,427 and retain status.

According to the report, Parnevik’s hand got stuck in a motorized boat winch as he attempted to bring his boat out of the water. Translating from Aftonbladet.se, Parnevik said, “When I saw the edges of the machine, I was 100-percent sure that I lost all the fingers. Given that the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament is in full bloom, it makes sense that he advances with a prayer like that. It’s his first cut made in eight starts dating back to last year’s stop at Pebble Beach.

Parnevik, who turned 46 years of age in 2011, burned a career earnings exemption last year but made just 10 starts. He added one start in his native Sweden before shutting it down for the year. If he earns $630,427 on his medical, he will retain status for the remainder of the season. He is not an advised investment in fantasy formats.

While he’s competed in all but one edition since 1996, Parnevik has had a bumpy road the last two years with his health. He should be avoided in all fantasy formats.

Parnevik has found his swing this week. His last Top 10 was back in February.

He was predictably rusty in hitting only 17 greens in regulation in two rounds at Waialae. While he managed an eagle and four birdies, he also swallowed six bogeys and three doubles. This leaves him with 14 starts on his Major Medical Extension to earn $630,427 and retain status.

He offset two birdies with two bogeys. The Swede hasn’t seen any live action since the Transitions Championship in March. Shortly thereafter, he injured his hand in a freak boat accident and had surgery. If he doesn’t survive Q School, the 47-year-old will still have 12 starts on a Major Medical Extension to earn $620,087 and retain status.
