Indians right-hander Corey Kluber was scratched from his scheduled start last Friday due to a strained right hamstring, but he’s working toward his return.

According to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com, Kluber did some agility drills and a long-toss session today at Progressive Field. The plan calls for him to throw a bullpen session on Friday, after which the Indians will discuss how to proceed. It’s possible he could rejoin the rotation next week.

Kluber’s secondary numbers aren’t too far off from his AL Cy Young Award campaign from last year, but he’s currently 8-13 with a 3.41 ERA over 28 starts this season. A big reason for that is lack of help from his offense. Only five qualified pitchers in MLB have received less run support this season.
