Joba Chamberlain finally back with Yankees

Yankees right-hander Joba Chamberlain hasn’t made an appearance in a major league game since June 5, 2011. But that will change this week.

According to the Newark Star-Ledger‘s Marc Carig, Chamberlain has been activated from the 60-day disabled list and will be available out of the Bombers’ bullpen for Tuesday’s game against the Orioles.

Chamberlain underwent Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery about 14 months go, then suffered a severe dislocation of his right ankle near the end of March while playing on a trampoline with his son. He is fully healed from both.

The 26-year-old right-hander owns a 3.70 career ERA and 1.34 career WHIP in 382 major league innings.
