Athenian Motorsports, which fields the Xfinity Series entry of John Wes Townley and Dylan Lupton, announced it is withdrawing its No. 25 Zaxby’s Chevrolet from this weekend’s Hisense 200 at Dover International Raceway.

The team said it made the decision in order “to strengthen its efforts” in the Camping World Truck Series, also led by Townley, for the remainder of 2015 and in 2016.

The team release said the decision to compete in further Xfinity Series races “will be made on a race-by-race basis.”

Townley had competed in 17 of the 27 Xfinity Series races in 2015 with a best finish of 13th at Chicagoland Speedway and Iowa Speedway. Lupton’s best finish was ninth at Mid-Ohio. In 73 Xfinity starts dating back to 2008, Townley has never finished in the top 10.

In the Camping World Truck Series, Townley has three top five and 19 top-10 finishes in 86 starts.
