Josh Allen threw his 10th touchdown of the season on the Bills’ first drive Monday night.
The Falcons and Bills are tied 7-7 with 8:01 remaining in the first quarter.
The Bills drove 73 yards in six plays, overcoming a holding penalty on Tyrell Shavers, to score on Allen’s 19-yard throw to Dawson Knox.
It was Knox’s first touchdown of the season and the 24th of his career. He needs one more receiving touchdown to move into the top 10 in team history.
The Bills are playing without tight end Dalton Kincaid, who is inactive with an oblique injury.
Allen is 2-of-2 for 64 yards, throwing a 45-yard pass to Joshua Palmer to set up the touchdown pass to Knox.
The Bills ruled out defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, who injured his calf in pregame warmups.
On the first play from scrimmage Monday night, Bijan Robinson fumbled after a 3-yard gain. Christian Benford recovered for the Bills at the Atlanta 46.
The turnover, though, was negated by an offsides penalty on Greg Rousseau.
Five plays later, the Falcons were in the end zone and holding an early 7-0 lead.
Michael Penix completed passes of 23 and 10 yards to Drake London, and Robinson had two carries for 10 yards.
Tyler Allgeier ran 21 yards for the touchdown. It was his third touchdown of the season.
The 49ers could get a little help on offense for their Week 7 game against the Falcons.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Monday that the team expects to get tight end George Kittle back on the practice field this week. Kittle has been out since suffering a hamstring injury in the first game of the season.
If all goes well, Kittle could be in the lineup on Sunday night.
The 49ers also expect to have rookie wide receiver Jordan Watkins (calf) back at practice this week, but it’s less clear if wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) and quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) will be back on the field.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen will be down two weapons for Monday Night Football.
Tight end Dalton Kincaid (oblique) and wide receiver Curtis Samuel (neck/ribs) are inactive. Both were questionable to play against the Falcons.
Kincaid had limited practices all three days, and Samuel was limited two days and out for one.
Kincaid is the team leader with 287 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns on 24 catches, while Samuel has contributed four catches for 35 yards and a touchdown.
The Bills’ other inactives are linebacker Matt Milano (pectoral), linebacker Jimmy Ciarlo and offensive lineman Chase Lundt.
The Bills elevated safety Jordan Poyer and defensive tackle Jordan Phillips from the practice squad for the game.
The Falcons won’t have wide receiver Darnell Mooney (hamstring), wide receiver Ray-Ray McCloud III, cornerback Clark Phillips III (triceps/illness), running back Nathan Carter, cornerback Billy Bowman (knee/hamstring), defensive lineman LaCale London (triceps) and offensive lineman Jack Nelson.
The Falcons elevated cornerback Keith Taylor and wide receiver Deven Thompkins from the practice squad for Monday Night Football, the team announced.
The move to elevate Thompkins comes after the Falcons ruled out wide receiver Darnell Mooney with a hamstring injury. Cornerback A.J. Terrell does not have an injury designation, but he is returning to game action for the first time since Week 2.
Defensive back Billy Bowman Jr. is questionable after injuring his knee and hamstring during practice this week.
It marks the first elevation for both Taylor and Thompkins.
Taylor has played 45 games with five starts in his career, totaling 72 tackles, six passes defensed and a forced fumble.
Thompkins has appeared in 29 games with two starts, recording 26 catches for 135 yards and a touchdown.
