Lamar Jackson’s status for Sunday’s game against the Bears is a significant question mark for the Ravens and Wednesday’s return to practice was a good sign for the quarterback’s availability.

Thursday brought the same positive sign. Reporters at the open portion of Ravens practice note that Jackson is participating in practice for the second straight day.

Jackson was listed as limited in Wednesday’s practice, which was his first since injuring his hamstring on September 28. Thursday’s status will be revealed later in the day, but the reports from practice suggest Jackson is handling a similar workload.

Friday will see the Ravens practice once more before issuing injury designations that will give the last word on the chances that the Ravens will have Jackson back in action to help them land their second win of the season.

The Ravens have removed ping pong tables and other games from their locker room as they attempt to turn around an ugly start to their season. Their opponents this week have taken the opportunity to have some fun at the Ravens’ expense.

The Bears, who play the Ravens on Sunday, posted a video on social media showing their players enjoying themselves in the locker room. Activities Bears players partake in for the video include ping pong, pop-a-shot, darts, building a house of cards and flying paper airplanes.

It’s a sponsored video from the Bears’ social media team and an obvious shot at the Ravens, who are 1-5 this season and have cut out the distractions in the locker room to try to turn things around.

With the Bears on a four-game winning streak and the Ravens on a four-game losing streak, these two teams are heading in opposite directions. Both on the field and in the locker room.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced that 34 seniors candidates are moving onto the next phase of the selection process for the Class of 2026.

A group of 52 names was cut down to 34 by the Hall of Fame’s blue-ribbon committee for seniors candidates. Players in this group last could have appeared in a game during the 2000 season.

The members of the committee voted for 25 players each with the top 25 plus ties moving on to the next round of voting. The group will be cut to nine semifinalists next month and three finalists will move on to the Hall of Fame’s selection committee for consideration.

The full list of candidates is:

The Bears practiced without tight end Cole Kmet (back), wide receiver DJ Moore (hip) and running back D’Andre Swift (groin) on Wednesday.

Starting cornerback Tyrique Stevenson (shoulder) and running back Roschon Johnson (back) also sat out. Stevenson played 32 snaps in Sunday’s win over the Saints before leaving with his injury.

Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett (knee) had his second consecutive limited practice after returning on Friday. He has not played since Sept. 21.

Kicker Cairo Santos (right quad), cornerback Nahshon Wright (hip) and offensive tackle Braxton Jones (knee) were also limited. Santos has not played since Sept. 28 when he injured his adductor muscle during the Raiders game.

Jake Moody, who is on the practice squad, has kicked in his place since.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was a limited participant in his first practice since injuring his hamstring on September 29.

Head coach John Harbaugh said that he expected Jackson to resume working with the team after they returned from their bye week, but he did not take part in their bonus practice on Monday. His return to practice did not lead Harbaugh to make any predictions about whether Jackson will play against the Bears this Sunday.

Jackson missed the last two games and Harbaugh said at his press conference that he would not “put a number” on the chances of the quarterback making it back for this weekend.

Cornerback Marlon Humphrey (calf) was the only Ravens player out of practice. Safety Kyle Hamilton (groin) joined Jackson on the short list of limited participants.

Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring), wide receiver Zay Flowers (shoulder), fullback Patrick Ricard (calf), linebacker Roquan Smith (hamstring), left tackle Ronnie Stanley (ankle), and wide receiver Devontez Walker (oblique) were all listed as full participants.
