The Cowboys saw the return of safeties Donovan Wilson and Malik Hooker and have linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and rookie cornerback Shavon Revel playing for the first time in 2025. But Quinnen Williams, in his Dallas debut, has had the biggest impact.
The defensive tackle, traded by the Jets at the trade deadline, has two tackles, 1.5 sacks and five quarterback hits already.
The Cowboys dominated the first half, taking a 24-9 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Dallas began the night without star wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, who were benched for the first series. The Cowboys went three-and-out, and then on the second possession, Dak Prescott lost a fumble on a strip-sack by Maxx Crosby at the Dallas 15 that led to a Daniel Carlson 35-yard field goal.
It was all Cowboys the rest of the half.
They outgained the Raiders 253 to 167, while playing their first game without Marshawn Kneeland. The defensive lineman died during the team’s bye week.
Prescott went 13-of-19 for 185 yards with three touchdowns. He threw an 18-yard touchdown to Lamb, a 5-yard touchdown to Jake Ferguson and a 37-yard touchdown to Pickens. Pickens has six receptions for 101 yards and Lamb three for 55 yards.
Javonte Williams has 12 carries for 54 yards.
The Raiders crossed midfield on five of their six possessions but managed only three Carlson field goals. They were 0-for-2 in the red zone.
Geno Smith went 16-of-28 for 167 yards and an interception, with Brock Bowers catching four passes for 58 yards. The Raiders have called for only three runs, gaining 14 yards. Smith also had a scramble of 7 yards.
Dak Prescott’s second touchdown pass of the night has the Cowboys leading the Raiders 17-6.
Prescott hit Jake Ferguson for a 5-yard score on fourth-and-1 with 5:16 left in the half. He went 7-of-8 for 69 yards on the 12-play, 79-yard drive.
Prescott’s first touchdown throw was an 18-yarder to CeeDee Lamb.
He is 12-of-17 for 148 yards and two touchdowns.
Lamb has three catches for 55 yards and a touchdown, and George Pickens has five catches for 64 yards.
The Cowboys have gotten return on their investment in Quinnen Williams tonight, too. In his first game since the trade from the Jets, the defensive tackle has 1.5 sacks. He had only one sack with the Jets.
CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens did not play the first series for disciplinary reasons. They have made their presence felt in the three series since.
Pickens has three receptions for 46 yards, and Lamb has an 18-yard touchdown catch.
The rest of the team has one target and one reception over the past three drives.
The Cowboys lead 10-6.
Dak Prescott, who fumbled on the second possession on a strip-sack by Maxx Crosby, is 5-for-9 for 79 yards and a touchdown.
The Raiders used Prescott’s fumble for a 35-yard field goal despite losing 2 yards on the drive and added a 45-yard Daniel Carlson field goal.
Brandon Aubrey kicked a 50-yard field goal for the Cowboys.
The last time Fox broadcaster and Raiders minority owner Tom Brady attended a Raiders game, he created a stir by sitting in the coaches’ box with a headset and a tablet. Many who previously hadn’t fully appreciated the inherent conflict of interest between Brady’s two roles had an epiphany regarding the problems with having access to the league at large and owing a fiduciary duty to one specific team.
The Week 2 Monday night development became a big deal until the next bright, shiny object came along to distract us three nights later, in the form of the Thursday night game to start Week 3. By then it died down, with the league doubling down on its decision to let Brady do both, Brady (who privately was livid over the criticism, we’re told) writing a strident, accusatory newsletter chastising anyone would who dare question his decision to wear two hats that can’t fit on one head, and the entire incident slipping into the ever-growing bog of post-standards America.
Brady skipped the Week 10 Thursday night game between the Raiders and Broncos, opting to attend an event in Miami instead. Tonight, he’s present for the Raiders’ Week 11 game against the Cowboys.
During the first quarter, ESPN cameras showed him in a suite, hanging out with friend, confidant, and business partner Jim Gray, who reportedly advises Raiders owner Mark Davis and brokered Brady’s below-market sweetheart deal to buy a piece of the franchise.
Brady possibly realizes it’s a bad look to be working with the team’s coaches during a game. He also possibly realizes that, by Week 11, nothing he does will help the 2-7 Raiders.
Either way, Brady is doing what he should have done in Week 2 — watching the game as a fan, hobnobbing with others, and enjoying the spread from P.F. Chang’s.
Cowboys starting wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens did not play the first possession.
Lisa Salters of ESPN reports that it was a coach’s decision and that Brian Schottenheimer would have to address whether it was for disciplinary reasons. Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram quoted a source as saying, “They missed some things.”
The Cowboys ran Javonte Williams twice, and then, on third-and-4, Jalen Tolbert, Ryan Flournoy and KaVontae Turpin were the receivers on the field. Dak Prescott threw an incompletion.
Lamb and Pickens stood on the sideline, wearing their helmets.
The Pro Bowl receivers are on the field for the team’s second possession after a Raiders punt.
