The Broncos will have one of their key offensive players for Sunday’s matchup against the Colts.
Evan Engram (calf) is off the injury report and is expected to play in Sunday’s game against the Colts.
Engram was limited on Wednesday and was full on Thursday and Friday.
Defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers (knee) and inside linebacker Alex Singleton (thumb) are also set to play after coming off the injury report.
However, linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quad) and tight end Nate Adkins (ankle) are out. Greenlaw returned to practice on Friday as a limited participant. Adkins was limited on Thursday and Friday after he didn’t participate on Wednesday.
Edge rusher Laiatu Latu missed his second straight practice on Friday, but the door is not closed for him to play against the Broncos on Sunday.
The Colts have listed Latu as questionable for their home date with Denver. Latu is dealing with a hamstring injury and clarity on his status will come closer to kickoff.
Running back Tyler Goodson (elbow) is also questionable. He missed the opener, but practiced all week and got bumped up to full participation on Friday.
Cornerbacks Charvarius Ward (concussion) and Jaylon Jones (hamstring) have both been ruled out. Xavien Howard, Kenny Moore, Mekhi Blackmon, and Jonathan Edwards are the remaining corners on the 53-man roster.
Colts edge rusher Laiatu Latu took a step in the wrong direction at practice on Thursday.
Latu was a limited participant in Wednesday’s practice, but he sat out with a hamstring injury as the team continued their on-field preparations for Sunday’s game against the Broncos. Friday will bring another chance for Latu to practice and the Colts will issue any injury designations for the game.
Latu started the opener against the Dolphins and had an interception in the 33-8 Colts win.
Cornerbacks Jaylon Jones (hamstring) and Charvarius Ward (concussion) missed a second straight day of practice. Defensive tackle Grover Stewart (rest) and running back Tyler Goodson (elbow) were limited participants while wide receivers Alec Pierce (knee) and Michael Pittman Jr. (glute) were listed as full.
The Broncos opened the 2025 season with a 20-12 win over the Titans, but there wasn’t a lot of happiness about the way they played en route to the victory.
Four turnovers were one disappointing area, particularly because three of them were made by quarterback Bo Nix. Nix threw two interceptions and lost a fumble, which led him to “thank goodness” for the play of the defense while speaking to reporters about the expectations he’s putting on himself on Wednesday.
“It’s not about the stats or it’s not about perfection by the outside, but it’s just, for me, a standard that I have for myself, and I know that I can be better,” Nix said, via the team’s website.
Nix’s execution was lacking, but head coach Sean Payton doesn’t think he did the quarterback any favors with his play calls either.
“I don’t know how many games I’ve called, but that’s one of them where I came away from it like, ‘I have to be a lot better,’” Payton said.
Everyone’s on the same page about what the Broncos need to do and Sunday’s game against the Colts gives them a chance to show that they are actually able to accomplish it.
Broncos linebacker Dre Greenlaw remained out of practice Wednesday.
Greenlaw missed all of the offseason program after hurting his quad while working out in April. The initial report was a tear, but the team clarified a strain would keep Greenlaw out eight weeks.
Greenlaw returned in time for training camp but then left practice early on July 31. He has not practiced since.
“Nothing to update you on,’’ Broncos coach Sean Payton said after Wednesday’s practice. “Progress is going well.”
Defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers (knee) and tight end Nate Adkins (ankle) also did not practice.
Tight end Evan Engram (calf) was limited.
