Trevor Lawrence didn’t get in the end zone on his attempt in the first half, fumbling on the goal line on a quarterback sneak on fourth down. His first rushing touchdown of the season, which came in the second half, has tied Monday Night Football 14-14.
The Jaguars quarterback ran 10 yards for a score with 8:40 remaining in the third quarter.
He now has seven carries for 44 yards.
The Chiefs opened the second half by going three-and-out for the second consecutive possession. The Jaguars then tied things with a seven-play, 87-yard touchdown drive.
Travis Hunter had his best play of the season, catching a 44-yarder and has 56 yards on two catches.
Lawrence is 12-of-16 for 165 yards and a touchdown.
The Jaguars could play the rest of the game without tight end Brenton Strange, who is questionable to return with a hip injury. He spent the last drive standing on the sideline with a towel around his neck.
The Chiefs lead the Jaguars 14-7 at halftime in an entertaining Monday Night Football game.
Jacksonville didn’t score until 2:38 was left in the half when Trevor Lawrence threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Parker Washington. It completed a 13-play, 70-yard drive.
The Jaguars had a turnover on fourth-and-goal from the 1 on their other scoring opportunity, with Lawrence getting the ball knocked loose as he tried to reach it over the plane. Nick Bolton knocked it away, and George Karlaftis recovered at the 3. Replay upheld the call on the field.
The Chiefs then drove 97 yards in five plays, with Mahomes scoring on a 9-yard run for a 14-0 lead.
Mahomes also had a 2-yard touchdown throw to Travis Kelce, who has set the team record for all-purpose yards with 12,357. He passed Dante Hall (12,356).
Officials threw a flag for offensive pass interference on the touchdown throw as JuJu Smith-Schuster took out cornerback Jourdan Lewis and safety Eric Murray. The flag, though, was picked up as officials ruled Smith-Schuster was within 1 yard of the line of scrimmage.
The Chiefs have outgained the Jaguars 236 to 162.
Mahomes has completed 14 of 17 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown. Tyquan Thornton has caught three passes for 90 yards, and Kareem Hunt has two carries for 34 yards.

The Chiefs receive the second-half kickoff.
It was a huge turn of events that has the momentum firmly on the Kansas City sideline.
The Jaguars drove 59 yards in eight plays, and faced fourth-and-goal at the Chiefs 1. Trevor Lawrence tried to reach the ball over the top of the pile on a quarterback sneak, and Nick Bolton knocked it away before it crossed the plane. George Karlaftis recovered at the 3.
Replay upheld the call on the field.
On the Chiefs’ first play from their own 3, Kareem Hunt ran for 33 yards before safety Andrew Wingard pushed him out of bounds.
The Chiefs went 97 yards in only five plays.
Mahomes, who had a 16-yard completion to Hollywood Brown and a 34-yarder to Tyquan Thornton, ran the final 9 yards for a touchdown.
The Chiefs lead 14-0.
Mahomes is 12-of-14 for 162 yards and a touchdown.
The Chiefs got lucky.
They scored on a 2-yard throw from Patrick Mahomes to Travis Kelce on third-and-goal. Officials, though, threw a flag for offensive pass interference.
JuJu Smith-Schuster freed up Kelce with a rub that took out cornerback Jourdan Lewis and safety Eric Murray.
Mahomes quickly argued with officials that Smith-Schuster was within 1 yard of the line of scrimmage when he took out Murray, which would have made the play legal. ESPN rules analyst Russell Yurk said officials should have stuck with pass interference.
The Chiefs lead 7-0 with 4:02 left in the first quarter.
The big play on the nine-play, 72-yard drive was Mahomes’ 32-yard throw to Tyquan Thornton on an all-out blitz by the Jaguars. The Jaguars challenged Thornton’s catch, but the play stood after replay.
Mahomes is 9-of-11 for 107 yards, and Kelce has three catches for 17 yards.
That gives Kelce the team record for all-purpose yards at 12,357, topping Dante Hall (12,356). Running back Jamaal Charles and tight end Tony Gonzalez rank third and fourth on the list.
The touchdown was the 79th of Kelce’s career.
Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy is officially active for Monday Night Football.
Worthy was added to the injury report Sunday with an ankle injury after the team landed in Jacksonville. His ankle was reportedly “a bit” swollen, prompting the late questionable designation.
Worthy hurt his shoulder in Week 1 when he collided with teammate Travis Kelce. He has a torn labrum that he is playing through and was listed with that injury all week.
He was a full participant in all three practices.
The Chiefs, though, will not have defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott (shoulder) or cornerback Kristian Fulton (ankle). They are among the team’s inactives after being questionable to play.
The Chiefs’ other inactives are tight end Jared Wiley, running back Elijah Mitchell, offensive lineman Hunter Nourzad and defensive end Malik Herring.
Jaguars edge rusher Travon Walker (wrist) will not play.
He had wrist surgery this week but returned to practice on Saturday with a cast on his left wrist. The Jaguars listed him as questionable to play.
The Jaguars’ other inactives are linebacker Yasir Abdullah (hamstring), offensive lineman Wyatt Milum (knee), defensive lineman Danny Striggow and defensive tackle Khalen Saunders Sr.
