So while we were watching the ESPN hype machine generating phony on-air interest in the hopes of conjuring actual viewer interest in a “truck” the size of a Volkswagen kit car doing an (drum roll) backflip, we weren’t watching CNN’s coverage of the impending arrival of 2009. In hindsight, we wish we had been. Because some guy got in Kathy Griffin’s head. It was a beautiful moment, with multiple layers of Seinfeld similarities and a Cowboy Chris-style disruption of a “media” figure trying to do her job. Here’s the clip. The best part comes at the end.
