The Bears waived reserve cornerback Teddy Williams on Monday. The move was disclosed in the NFL’s transactions.

Williams played 19 snaps on special teams and was flagged for a personal foul penalty in Chicago’s 55-14 loss at Green Bay on Sunday. The 26-year-old Williams appeared in five games for Chicago this season, notching two tackles.

Williams’ penalty was one of 11 fouls assessed against the Bears in Sunday’s debacle at Lambeau Field. Overall, the Bears were docked 163 yards in penalties.

As of Monday evening, the release of Williams leaves the Bears with one open roster spot. No other Bears transactions were reported by the league on Monday, and the team hasn’t announced any other moves.

UPDATE 8:05 p.m. ET: The Bears have promoted rookie guard Ryan Groy to the 53-player roster, according to Kevin Fishbain of ChicagoFootball.com. Groy is a Wisconsin product.
