Broncos’ Brandon Marshall Has Hip Surgery

As if the Denver Broncos didn’t have enough problems dealing with disgruntled and apparently soon-to-be traded quarterback Jay Cutler, wide receiver Brandon Marshall underwent hip surgery Tuesday, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post. Marshall will reportedy be out for the remainder of the offseason, but is expected to recover in time for training camp in July. Marshall’s surgery was done by Dr. Marc Phillipon, who also operated recently on the respective multi-million dollar hips of the New York Yankees’ Alex Rodriguez and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner. Marshall, 25, was hampered by the hip injury last season, but still managed to catch 104 passes for 1,265 yards as he was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time. Marshall’s disorderly conduct charge from March was thrown out, but his history of personal conduct policy violations could catch up with him depending upon how NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell views the incident.
