It’s not like Mike McCarthy needs an excuse to throw the ball in almost any situation. He was one anyhow this week with James Starks officially out with an ankle injury.

Ryan Grant figures to get early down work, while rookie Brandon Saine picks up passing down duties. Grant just hasn’t returned the same player after his injury last year.

It will be tougher for the Packers to run because their best lineman Josh Sitton is out. Linebacker Desmond Bishop is also out of the mix.

A.J. Hawk is questionable for Green Bay, who faces a confident Raiders team with plenty of injury problems of their own.
