The Ravens will have a change to their starting secondary.
Cornerback Shareece Wright is inactive for Sunday’s game against the Redskins after not appearing on the team’s injury report at all leading up to the game. The Ravens say that Wright is having back spasms and has been deactivated as a result.
The development will force a shift in Baltimore’s approach to defending the pass after they started Wright in each of the first four weeks of the season. Sheldon Price, Tavon Young, Jerraud Powers and Will Davis are options to play alongside Jimmy Smith with Young seeing the most snaps through the first four games.
Wright has not been playing at a high level the last few weeks and has given up five touchdowns in the last three games. Should Sunday’s replacement fare better, the Ravens could continue with the change even when Wright’s back is feeling better.
