Former Buccaneers and Colts coach Tony Dungy, who had an active role in Mike Vick’s return to the NFL last year, has chimed in on the latest controversy involving Vick.
“The only thing he is guilty of is using bad judgment and attending and publicizing parties open to the public and utilizing his name to get people there,” Dungy told the Associated Press, via USA Today. “Hopefully he learns from this.”
But no one at this point knows for sure whether Vick was guilty of anything else. Quanis Phillips, a convicted felon, was at the party. Quanis Phillips is a convicted felon. Mike Vick is prohibited under the terms of his supervised release from associating with convicted felons.
So while Vick may be innocent of any role in the shooting of Quanis Phillips, Vick may be guilty of a probation violation, the foundation for which was laid by having a birthday party in a public place.
