The Browns added a pair of cornerbacks to their 53-man roster on Wednesday.

The team announced that they have signed D’Angelo Ross and Sam Webb. Ross was on the Texans’ practice squad while Webb was on the Titans’ practice squad.

No roster spots needed to be opened for the new arrivals because the Browns put cornerback Dom Jones on injured reserve and waived wide receiver Kaden Davis on Tuesday.

Ross appeared in three games on special teams for Houston this season and he appeared in 23 games over the previous two seasons. He has 24 career tackles.

Webb has not played in the regular season this year. He has 37 tackles and a forced fumble in 29 appearances for the Raiders and Panthers over the last three seasons.

Titans head coach Mike McCoy announced after Sunday’s game that wide receiver Calvin Ridley suffered a season-ended broken fibula in the team’s loss to the Texans and Ridley officially landed on injured reserve on Tuesday.

Ridley missed three games with a hamstring injury before returning to action against Houston and ends his season with 17 catches for 303 yards. His final catch of the year came on the first play of Sunday’s game and he did not return to the field after suffering his injury on that play.

The Titans filled the open roster spot by signing James Proche off the practice squad. He has appeared in two games this season.

They also signed wideouts Lance McCutcheon and Kristian Wilkerson to the practice squad. The team may need reinforcements at receiver this week with rookies Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike also dealing with injuries.

Titans defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons has had it. He’s tired of losing, and he’s tired of the offense committing the same penalty repeatedly at home.

Simmons approached his offensive teammates on the sideline after another failed drive Sunday. He explained to the media afterward that he was challenging the offense to play better complementary football.

I’m tired of sugarcoating it,” Simmons said postgame, via Turron Davenport of ESPN. “We need to be better, especially at home. Can’t have that many f---ing false starts. There’s no way we should have that many false starts at home. I don’t care. I’m tired of saving feelings. I’m tired of losing.”

The Titans committed five false starts in the loss to the Texans, three of which were by right tackle JC Latham. Latham blamed it partly on a cadence issue, something Cam Ward acknowledged.

Simmons said the Titans offense had four false starts in Friday’s practice.

The Titans had nine penalties total, including a 15-yard unnecessary contact penalty on Simmons on a missed field goal try by Texans kicker Matthew Wright. The Texans, though, ended up turning it over on downs.

The Titans lost 16-13 on a last-play field goal by Wright, dropping them to 1-9 on the season. It was Simmons’ first game back after missing two games with a hamstring injury.

“We fought all the way back from injuries just because the team and this game means so much to us,” Simmons said. “Everybody has to take the same approach. We’re grown men and have a job to do. We need to attack every day with a better attitude.”

Titans wide receiver Calvin Ridley’s 2025 season is over.

Interim head coach Mike McCoy told reporters after Sunday’s 16-13 loss to the Texans that Ridley broke his fibula during the game and that the wideout will not play again this season.

Ridley had missed the last three games with a hamstring injury and he had one catch for 13 yards before his injury on Sunday. He ends the season with 17 catches for 303 yards in seven appearances.

Ridley has two more years left on his deal with the Titans. He’s set to make over $20 million with a cap hit of $26.75 million next season.

It was anything but pretty, but a win is a win is a win.

The Texans won their second consecutive game — their third victory in four games — and climbed back to .500 with a 16-13 win over the Titans on a last-play field goal by Matthew Wright. Houston is 5-5 and Tennessee 1-9 after Sunday’s ugly affair in Nashville.

The Texans, playing without starting quarterback C.J. Stroud for a second consecutive week, outgained the Titans 315 to 229. Davis Mills went 26-of-41 for 274 yards and a touchdown.

Houston had no points in the first half, but got a 3-yard touchdown catch by Nico Collins and Wright field goals of 41 and 43 yards in the second half. The Texans appeared to have it in the bag with a 13-6 lead with 4:57 left.

But the Titans reached the Houston 32, getting help on Derek Stingley’s 18-yard pass interference penalty and Denico Autry’s illegal use of hands penalty on back-to-back plays. Autry’s 5-yard penalty was tacked onto the end of Cam Ward’s 20-yard scramble. But a false start and a sack of Ward had the Titans facing a third-and-16.

Ward threw a 39-yard pass to Chig Okonkwo to the Houston 7 on the first play after the 2-minute warning, and Van Jefferson caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from Ward. The Titans chose to kick the extra point instead of going for 2, tying it 13-13 with 1:35 left.

Mills then drove the Texans 48 yards in nine plays, eating up the final 1:35 as Wright’s 35-yard kick won it. Collins kept the drive alive with a toe-tapping, 17-yard catch on third-and-16. He caught nine passes for 92 yards.

Ward was 24-of-37 for 194 yards and a touchdown and added 33 yards on three scrambles. Okonkwo caught three passes for 56 yards.
