“TOGETHER WE MAKE FOOTBALL” FEATURES THE STORY OF BRONCOS FAN & ORTHOPEDIC SURGEON DR. RON HUGATE TOMORROW MORNING ON TODAY

NBC Sports Group’s Josh Elliott Reports Live on TODAY

Denver Broncos Host San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football

STAMFORD, Conn. – October 16, 2014 – Tomorrow’s “Together We Make Football” segment on TODAY, narrated by NBC Sports Group’s Josh Elliott, tells the story of Denver Broncos fan and orthopedic surgeon Dr. Ron Hugate. Elliott will report the segment live for TODAY between 8 and 9 a.m. ET.

This week’s “Together We Make Football” segment profiles Dr. Ron Hugate, a former member of the Army Reserve who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and now works at one of the world’s top bone cancer treatment facilities, Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, Colo. Dr. Hugate and his team have a near 90% survival rate for pediatric bone cancer at his facility, and he draws on his time playing 10 years of organized football for the team-mentality in his operating room. In his spare time, the Broncos fan organizes flag football games in his community, and is known by patients for his compassion and dedication.

Peyton Manning looks to become the most prolific quarterback in NFL history this Sunday when the Denver Broncos (4-1) host Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers (4-2) on Sunday Night Football on NBC. Pre-game coverage begins with Football Night In America at 7 p.m. ET.
ABOUT “TOGETHER WE MAKE FOOTBALL”
