U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist and Snowboard Phenom Chloe Kim Scheduled to Compete in Copper Grand Prix & Mammoth Grand Prix
Event Highlights Include FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships in Utah and FIS World Cup events in Secret Garden, Copper Mountain & Mammoth Mountain
STAMFORD, Conn. – November 20, 2018 – NBC Sports’ presentation of the 2018-19 FIS Snowboard World Cup season continues this Saturday from Beijing, China, as part of more than 40 hours of coverage set to air across NBCSN, Olympic Channel: Home of Team USA, NBCSports.com, the NBC Sports app, OlympicChannel.com and the Olympic Channel app this season.
This season’s U.S. contingent is led by Olympic gold medalists Chloe Kim, Red Gerard and Jamie Anderson, all of whom earned gold at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics. Kim, who is expected to compete at the Copper Grand Prix (Dec. 3 – 9), became the youngest female Olympic snowboard gold medalist after winning gold in PyeongChang.
NBC Sports’ 2018-19 FIS Snowboard World Cup schedule is highlighted by live coverage of the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix from Copper Mountain, Colo. (Dec. 8 – 9); the Toyota U.S. Grand Prix from Mammoth Mountain, Calif. (March 8 – 9); and the FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships in Utah (Feb. 1 – 10). In addition, NBC Sports presents live snowboard coverage from Secret Garden, China, on Thursday, Dec. 20. The venue will host snowboard and freestyle skiing events at the 2022 Winter Olympics.
